"The stupid kid thought he could take me on," Sephiroth said.
He and Maleficent were talking in the Castle Chapel of Hollow Bastion.
"He's a fool. Like the rest of them. But we have two of three. We must get the last one. Or else she'll be awakened," Maleficent said.
Sephiroth looked at Riku. How could a child with such a strong heart lose to me? he thought. Riku stirred.
"He's awake," Sephiroth said.
"Get the piece of heart. Quickly," Maleficent said.
Sephiroth made a motion with his hand. Nothing happened.
"It's gone!"
"But how?" Maleficent was quite shocked.
Riku started to sit up.
"Down boy."
"No! I lost to you once. I won't lose again. And I have more important things to do. I have to help Sora," Riku said.
"You can't. Your heart is too far in darkness," Sephiroth said.
"At least I can try."
Riku tried to get away, but Maleficent picked up her hand waved it in front of her. Riku was picked up and thrown against the far wall.
"I will be strong," he muttered.
He started to walk away.
"I don't think so." Riku was surrounded by Defenders.
"I will get out."
Riku turned around in a circle and destroyed all of the defenders with a swoosh of his hand. He ran. He ran to the wall. He knew something Maleficent didn't know. Or so he thought. He had made a door behind the fake wall. Riku put his hand on the door handle.
"Bye."
He walked through. Maleficent waved her hand. They saw Riku running towards the end of the bridge.
"Get him Sephiroth."
Sephiroth followed Riku. When Riku got to the end, all he could see was sky. And he couldn't see the bottom of the pit that he was above.
"You aren't going anywhere kid."
Riku turned to Sephiroth. Sephiroth drew his sword. All he had to do was swing his sword and Riku would be a goner.
"Actually I am." Riku jumped off the bridge.
When Sora stepped out of the portal, he was on a train.
"And who might you be?" Sora turned to the voice.
There was an elephant and a baby elephant.
"I'm Sora. You?" Sora said.
"Sora!" exclaimed the baby elephant.
Sora had a puzzled look on his face.
"It's me. Dumbo. Remember you could summon me in battle. Now I'm home because of you. Thanks," the baby elephant said.
"Oh yeah. I remember you. That's good that you're back home. But can you tell me if you've seen a 15-year-old boy. And a 14 year old girl," Sora said.
"Um. I'm not sure. Mom?" Dumbo said.
"No. There are no new performers," his mom said.
"Um. Let's see. How about a confused boy and an unconscious girl? They wouldn't be performers," Sora said.
"No-"
"Wait! Yes. Well a half a yes. I saw a girl being carried by a tall, kinda old guy. I asked them if they were lost, but the lady just pushed me aside. I haven't seen them since," Dumbo said.
"Oh."
"Well don't be so depressed. I could still show you around. Maybe someone would know," Dumbo said cheerfully.
"I guess I can."
Sora followed Dumbo around the train the last person Sora was introduced, to was the conductor.
"Mr. Conductor?"
"Yes Dumbo?"
"I hate to bother you, but I'd like you to meet someone. A friend of mine," Dumbo said.
The conductor turned to look at them. He looks familiar. Sora thought.
"Mr. Conductor. This is my friend Sora."
"Sora." Mr. Conductor said Sora's name slowly.
"He's looking for-"
"For a job," Sora interrupted.
"Actually you're looking for your friends," Mr. Conductor said.
"But how?"
"News travels fast. Where are your friends now?"
"Oh. I know where they are," Sora said cautiously.
"Do you mind telling me?" Mr. Conductor asked.
"Yes I mind. It's none of your business!" Sora said.
Mr. Conductor turned and fingered something on his desk. Then he faced Sora.
"Is this of some value?" he asked, holding up a key chain of some sort.
Sora cried out. "Where did you get that?" he asked.
"Somewhere."
"Tell me or I'll kill you!"
"If you kill me, then you won't know where I got this," Mr. Conductor said.
"Yeah. But I can hurt you enough where you will wish that you had told me," Sora said.
"I'm not allowed to fight you. I'm on a mission. But I can bring you to her."
"No. Tell me and I'll go. Alone."
Mr. Conductor stretched out his arm and yanked it back. Sora cried out in pain. It felt like something was pulling his heart.
"Now. How many heart pieces do you have?" Mr. Conductor asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about," Sora whimpered.
"Oh great. I guess we'll just find out. You're coming with me," Mr. Conductor said.
He took off his disguise. It was Sephiroth.
"I won't let you take him," Dumbo said.
He squirted Sephiroth with water from his trunk. Sephiroth flung Dumbo out of the room. He turned back to Sora.
"Now. About that heart piece. We shall see if you are lying."
Sora felt himself fall into darkness.
"No! He's strong. I won't let you take him! You took me. That's enough."
Sora felt his strength come back to him. He opened his eyes.
"Riku."
"Are you kidding?"
The person looked back at Sephiroth, but he was gone. The person walked over to Sora.
"Are you okay?"
Sora's eyesight was cloudy. He shook his head. He saw Cloud.
"I guess so. But how did you find me?" Sora said.
"Zelda, Link, and Saria went back to their home world. Me and the others went to separate worlds. The others should be here soon," Cloud said.
"I have to leave before they come," Sora said.
"Too late." Leon, Yuffie. ,and Aerith were standing in the doorway of the train cabin. Sora looked at the desk. The key chain was still there. He walked over to the desk. He picked up the key chain. A scene went through his mind.
"Sora. Look what I found." She showed him a star.
"Cool Kairi. You should keep it in case we find others."
"Sure."
Sora was back in reality.
"Sora. What's that?" Aerith asked.
Sora quickly put the key chain in his pocket.
"Oh nothing. Just something I might need in the future."
He walked around the room. He walked to a wall. Some reason he was drawn there. Sora put out his hand. A piece of heart appeared. It went straight to his heart.
"I'm sorry to leave you guys. But I have a mission to finish," Sora said.
He made a portal with his Keyblade.
"Wait Sora! Take at least one person with you," Yuffie said.
"If you can catch me. Cloud."
Sora disappeared into the portal. It closed after him.
"Why does he do that?" Yuffie exclaimed.
"His heart doesn't know who to trust. His two best friends betrayed him. What would you do?" Leon said.
"I'd let people help me," Aerith said.
"That's not the point. He's known both of is friends practically forever. They were his best friends. And he lost them. Maybe forever," Leon explained.
