As Matthew entered the vehicle, something interrupted him and caused him to step back. A voice in his mind: Alucard's. 'Young Jemeth, we will soon be in a battle the likes of which this world had never seen,' Alucard's voice came, sounding pleased.

"You sound like you're looking forward to it," Matthew said.

'Oh, but I am.'

Suppressing a shudder, Matthew said, "I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I take it you've already told Seras about this."

'I have. Young Jemeth... Matthew, you must be ready to help your Master. This will be a trying time for us all, and she will need your help. Be prepared.'

Determinedly, he replied, "I will be."

He heard Alucard chuckle, 'Yes, you will indeed to well in this battle, young Jemeth.' Alucard's voice faded, and after a moment Matthew turned and jumped into the transport.

Matthew found a seat and looked over at Seras. "Seras, I'm curious. What's with Alucard calling you 'police girl'? Private joke?"

Seras lightly chuckled. "In a way. It refers to how we met, with my police squad and me sent to deal with a disturbance. I was alone at that point, and seeing him frightened me, especially when he'd killed a ghoul with his bare hand and said that the night was perfect if one was a blood sucker. I... well... shot him. It didn't even phase him, and I ran off. He called me 'police girl' later when I was held by the priest. After he turned me, it became his pet name for me. He stopped using it on a regular basis after I turned you." She gave a small smile. "Though he still uses it now and then to remind me where I started."

"So 'Young Jemeth' is his pet name for me?"

"Probably, though why he'd use one for you when you're my fledgling I don't know."

Matthew shrugged. "It's Alucard."

Seras considered that. "True."

As they approached London's industrial sector the ride became quiet. Seras and Matthew concentrated on mentally preparing themselves for battle. Matthew pulled back the slide of each browning, then gently released the hammer and slid them back into their holsters. He would wait on loading the Valkyrie. Once a round was in the chamber, pressing its firing stud would fire it. There was no way to decock it like releasing the hammers on the brownings.

The transport stopped long enough for Seras and Matthew to hop out. It went back the way it came, leaving the area silent. After ensuring they weren't detected, they started towards the building Fargason's intel had directed them to. They first passed through an abandoned factory. Matthew swung his now loaded Valkyrie around every corner, ensuring no evil creatures lurked in the shadows. Seras brought up the rear, her weapon more suited to long range support. Matthew stopped at the slightest noise, analyzing the cause of each. Moonlight shown on the floor through a series of dusty windows on a high wall. Rusty railings lead around an upper level to workstations and supervisory positions. There was no equipment left in the building. 'It must have been taken away when the factory was closed.' The two exited, starting for another building. As they approached a darkened door, Matthew looked to Seras. She had her Harkonnen ready to go. With his right hand, he counted down from three. At one, he made a fist, then brought up his leg and side kicked the door, sending it flying from its hinges. He brought the Valkyrie to bear and ran inside.

He and Seras had managed to catch everyone inside by surprise. He didn't take the time to count the enemies, only to see that one of them had red eyes. Before he could say a word, Matthew fired the Valkyrie. It the vampire in the head, sending him to the far side of the room. He would be back up, but for the moment he was out of the fight. He quickly loaded a shot round into the Valkyrie, aimed at a pack of ghouls, and fired. Turning before he could see the result he slid the Valkyrie to the floor, not having time to reload it, and drew the brownings. He thumbed back their hammers and started shooting at anything that moved. Along with his efforts he heard the explosions of Seras's Harkonnen rounds hitting their targets.

The opposing vampires and ghouls didn't stand a chance against the combined might of Matthew and Seras. Soon, all was quiet. Again, Matthew took a moment to get his breathing back under control, then grabbed his Valkyrie and walked to a nearby computer. Luckily, it had gotten through the battle unscathed. He plugged a flashcard into it and started a download. He noticed some files disappearing as he went for them. "Shit... They're remote deleting information." He tried to get ahead of it, grab as much as he could. He managed to get about ten megabytes of information... out of about 300. "Damn... Well, let's hope I got some of the good stuff."

"Not that you'll ever get back to your masters with that information, Hellsing pets."

Matthew yanked the flashcard out and stuffed it into a pocket. He and Seras had their guns trained on the newcomer moments after. It was a vampire, but he had a... presence... to him. He was greater then what they'd faced in the past. He opened his eyes, and they were a brighter red then usual. He smiled, showing off his pointed canines. 'No way the Valkyrie will deal with him...' He slid the cannon to the floor and pulled out the brownings. He still had some anti-vampire ammunition left, but the magazines in the guns were regular ammunition. 'It'll still phase him some, let me get the Alucard bullets loaded.'

"I hope you'll actually prove a challenge with those puny human weapons." With a hiss, the vampire charged. Matthew fired a barrage of bullets from his brownings and Seras hit the vampire from behind with a round from her Harkonnen. Matthew sprung to the side as the vampire flew by. He came up to his feet and aimed. The vampire stood up easily, unphased by the bullets. 'Huh?' Matthew thought. He watched as his bullets were pushed from the holes they'd made and tinged as they hit the floor. Matthew brought up his guns again and fired, emptying both magazines, only to see the same result. The vampire sighed. "Oh well, so much for my fun."

"Seras," Matthew yelled, "cover me!" As the vampire approached, Matthew tossed his right browning to his left hand. As his left hand held both pistols, his right dug out a pair of magazines loaded with anti-vampire bullets. He loaded each browning, tossed the right browning back to his left hand, and hit both slide releases. Seras's shot landed, knocking the vampire back. Matthew took aim and fired. This vampire was unbelievably fast, somehow managing to dodge most of the incoming fire. One bullet out of Matthew's barrage of six hit its target square in the head. The vampire dropped, but didn't turn to ash. Matt kept his guns trained on the vampire, and watched in amazed horror as the vampire stood up again.

"Bloody bastard! That actually hurt!" The vampire leapt again, directly at Matthew and again unbelievably fast. Matthew got off a snap shot which took a chunk out of the vampire's shoulder, but before he could get of a second the vampire was upon him. His claws dug into Matthew's chest. Luckily, Matthew's ribs blocked them from his lungs and heart. Before the vampire to plunge his claws again, Seras fired her cannon and sent the vampire flying. Matthew aimed and fired, landing two bullets simultaneously into the vampire's skull. Finally, the vampire fell to ashes.

Matthew waved off Seras's attempt to help him up, then stood. "What the hell was that thing?"

Seras shook her head. "I don't know, but I'm sure Alucard does. Is the flashcard all right?"

Matthew dug it out of his pocket. "Yeah. It's in one piece." He grabbed his Valkyrie and looked back at Seras. "Let's call in evac. Targets are silenced, let's get out of here."

"Agreed." She pulled out a radio and contacted the transport.
