A/N: Here we go! Chapter 5 is up! Joy! Have fun. Oh yes, and thanks to my reviewers! You guys rock like woah!
On the day of the trip to Hogsmeade, all the students were quite excited, mingling together and rushing about. Hermione dressed in the most attractive outfit she could muster, wanting to please Draco.
She had put on a tiny black miniskirt and white lacey halter-top, which just barely covered her torso. It was low-cut and showed a bit of cleavage. She pulled on black combat boots and applied some eyeliner, and then went to find Ginny.
"How do I look?" she asked her friend, spinning around.
"Oh wow Hermione, you look great," Ginny gushed.
"Thanks! I have a date with Draco today, and I wanted to impress him.
"Oh really? I'm going to The Three Broomsticks with Dean.
"That's so cool! I hope you have a good time.
"You too."
They parted ways and Hermione went off to find Harry and Ron. When the three got to Hogsmeade, Draco found her and went to hug her, but his breath stopped and his hands fell.
"You look," he paused, "amazing.
She laughed, flattered. "I'm glad you think so.
Ron snorted, but Hermione elbowed him in the ribs gently and he said, "Jolly good. Harry and I will leave you two to your rendezvous," and put on a smile.
"Wait. I know you three like to do a few things together on these trips, so why don't I give you an hour to do some stuff? Hermione can meet me at The Three Broomsticks. I'll have a butterbeer or something.
"Thank you so much!" Hermione threw her hands around his neck and hugged him to her. "I'll see you in an hour!
Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked off to look at various stores, and Draco walked to The Three Broomsticks, his hair glinting in the sunlight. The chain attached to his black jeans jingled, and his black trenchcoat swished around his lean body.
He opened the door and took a seat at the bar, ordering a butterbeer. Daydreams and thoughts of Hermione filled his head, and soon he was staring off into space with a content look upon his face. Before he knew it, 45 minutes had passed, and he joyfully awaited Hermione's arrival. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and turned to look at the body that the hand belonged to.
"Draco!" A 17-year-old girl with blonde hair and light blue eyes waved her hand rapidly at him.
"Nia?" he asked, slightly confused. "I thought you were in a boarding school in Sweden.
"Daddy said I could take a trip out to see you.
"Look, Nia, a lot has happened since you left. I-
"Shhh." She put a finger to his lips. "Talk later. How about some of that famous kissing of yours?
"No, Nia. I'm in love with someone else.
"You are not," she said defiantly. "We were childhood lovers. We're meant to be.
"Many years have passed, Nia. We are not children anymore, and I have made some choices," he said, putting a hand to his brow, his brows furrowing more with each sentence.
"Who is the girl?
"Hermione Granger," he mumbled.
"Granger. That's not a pureblood name! You're in love with a mudblood!?
"Do not call her that name!" he yelled, standing up and towering over her, his eyes blazing with intense anger.
"She is not worthy of you!" she retorted, equally fierce.
He sat back down and turned away from her. She stamped her foot.
"I will make you love me!" she declared, and lunged at him, bruising his lips as she pressed hers against them.
At that precise moment, Hermione entered, and her cheerful gaze turned to that of sheer horror as encountered the pretty Swede kissing her boyfriend.
Draco pushed Nia away. "Hermione! It's not what you think!"
She shook her head repeatedly, her eyes watering, and her lips quivering. People were watching now. Looking rapidly from the staring faces to Draco and back again, she turned, and fled.
"How dare you! I don't ever want to see you again!" Draco bellowed at Nia.
She smirked. "I suppose you have gotten what you deserved. I shall leave you, but remember a betrayal to me will never result in a happy ending." With a snigger, she walked over to a group of punks and began chatting them up, and Draco ran out the door.
"Hermione!" he yelled, searching for her in the pedestrian traffic. She was nowhere to be found. He did see, however, a very enraged pair of Gryffindor boys marching at him full speed.
He was in no mood for this. "Where is she?" he demanded when they approached.
"Why should we tell you!? How could you do that to her!?" Ron demanded.
"We want an explanation for your actions pronto, or there could be some serious damage done here," Harry added.
"That girl, we were childhood lovers. She came to look for me and was disappointed to learn that I no longer had feelings for her. She kissed me in a desperate last attempt to regain our old relationship.
"How do we know you're not lying?" Ron asked suspiciously.
But Harry's face had changed. He looked thoughtful.
"Ron, I think he's telling the truth. The way he acts around Hermione, well, no one is that good of an actor.
"Voldemort is," Ron muttered under his breath.
Harry flashed him an agitated glare. "Not the point. She's in the ladies' room with Ginny.
"I don't suppose it's a good idea to wait outside. But perhaps, you could talk to her? I think she'd believe you two better than she would me.
"Mate, I think you're going to have to do something major to fix this," Ron said, laying a hand on Draco's shoulder, his face sincere.
"But you will try?
"Of course we will. Hermione was the most happy she's ever been today. That is, before the whole, well, you know," Harry replied.
"Thanks. I'm going to go find Blaise.
Harry and Ron approached the ladies' room gingerly and knocked on the door.
"Hermione? Ginny?
"Guys, please leave me alone," Hermione whimpered.
"Let me talk to them, " Ginny said.
She appeared in front of them moments later.
"What is it?
Her cheeks were flushed and she was scowling slightly. Her foot tapped on the ground in the moments she waited for them to answer.
"We know the real story. About Draco. He told us, and Harry and I think he was being honest.
"I don't have time for this.
"Ginny, you weren't there! Neither was Hermione! At least not for the whole thing! Just give us a chance, all right!?" Harry said, flustered.
"Why isn't Draco here to tell us?
"He thought you wouldn't hear him out," Ron answered.
"Well, I suppose he was right. Okay, go on.
"The girl was some ex-girlfriend of his who went crazy and uber mad when he said he didn't like her anymore. She decided to kiss him in a last attempt to get him back.
She looked thoughtful. "Very plausible, I suppose, but Hermione's a wreck. It's going to take more than an explanation to convince her.
"We know," Harry said, melancholy.
"We'll just have to see what happens then," Ginny said, and left the two outside the door. They slumped against the door.
"It's hopeless mate.
"I don't know, Ron, Draco can be quite cunning. I wouldn't be too surprised if he concocted up something.
"But this is Hermione. It's going to take months for her to forgive him. And even then, she might not date him again.
"We'll just have to wait and see, mate. Just wait and see.
A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger, but I couldn't write chapter 6 quite yet. I'll get it up soon though. Hopefully.
