My Golden Wolf

Notes: my first experiment into drabbling. OK, so it's not a strict less-than-100-word drabble, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere *smiles*

My Golden Wolf

I am watching him again. I sigh, and return to the task at hand. Transfiguration; a rock into a dove.

It's a difficult lesson today. Professor McGonagall pedantically reminds us that we must picture the dove in our minds exactly, or the spell won't work.

I close my eyes and picture the dove. White, pure, gentle. Picking up my wand, I open my eyes.

And once more, find that I am watching my Golden Wolf. He sits, idly chewing on the tip of his wand and, sensing my attention, allows his lip to curl in a mocking sneer. His blue, blue eyes narrow thoughtfully.

I shut my eyes again. The dove. I raise the wand, pronounce the words. I look down at the desk.

Not a dove. A small golden wolf. His mane is long and pale. His lip curls in a mocking sneer.

He blinks at me. With Draco's blue, blue eyes.
