The night was dark,
The moon was bright;
The stars were jasmine
Of the night.
The fog was swirling,
Near the ground;
Frogs did croak,
And dogs did yowl.
A woman walked
Hooded and cloaked;
Out of her house,
Towards the boat.
Her face was fair,
Her eyes were veiled;
Her hair was dark,
Her complexion pale.
She glided smoothly
Through the night;
The dock welcomed her,
Knowing her by sight.
A man awaited her,
He took her by the hand;
He seated her in the boat,
They together left that land.
The winds smelt of treachery,
The water told sad tales;
Her father woke next morning,
To find she had away'd.
His eyes were moist with tears,
His heart was rather sore;
But his love for his young daughter
Made him smile forever more.
Though he knew he'd be unhappy,
In losing the only thing he had left;
His heart rejoiced for her,
For she'd succeeded in her quest.
The forbidden love would blossom,
On the other shore;
The enmity of the two lands
Had never seen before
A love so deep and precious
That two lovers willingly strayed;
From lands and parents that they loved,
To start together a new day.

THE BEGINNING
Note to Readers:
As you can see, the poem doesn't really mention Aragorn and Arwen's names, but it was inspired from there. That whole father losing his daughter and being sad and happy at the same time, was a direct take on Elrond's reaction to Aragorn and Arwen's love.
The fact that I wrote this poem for the school magazine is why I couldn't mention Aragorn and Arwen's names, but otherwise, to you it means those two. You will notice that the description of the woman, does somewhat tally with Arwen's general appearance.
Thank you all for reading and please do review, as this is my first poem. If you liked this, go and read my other LOTR story, called "Despair and Hope."
Oh, and before I forget, instead of saying "THE END" at the end of the poem, I said "THE BEGINNING" because the end of the poem is actually a new beginning for the two lovers.
Bye!
