Chapter 3
Naqita stood at the entrance of Telinelp, staring at the large doors.
"All right...I expected an empty town....but not an ancient one..."
She sighed, attempting to open the giant door with the large and unusual door handle, but found that it would not budge.
"This is hope-less...and to make things even better, I am talking to myself."
She shook her head and took another step back, looking around.
"There has to be some way to get in here..."
Her soft blue eyes settled on Alenien who was chewing on a nearby vine. It looked as though it climbed over the edge of the town's wall and seemed to be sturdy enough to hold Naqita.
"You are brilliant!"
Naqita jogged over to where Alenien was and gently pulled him away from the vine. She grasped it before pulling herself up slowly. She continued climbing, praying the vine wouldn't break as she neared the top. After a few minutes, she pulled herself onto the top of the town's wall and grinned. After a moment of thought, she positioned herself before leaping down to a building below her. As soon as her feet touched the building's roof, everything caved in. She let out a shrill scream and clamped her eyes shut until she found she was not moving any longer. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked around. She found herself in a large pile of hay with small pieces of the roof she had demolished around her. After a moment, she began to laugh, thinking back on what had happened to her.
"Thank you, Lord!"
She exclaimed before standing and dusting herself off. She slowly went to the entrance of the unstable home and opened the door with much distrust. When she saw that nothing would happen, she quickly walked out of the house and made her way towards the exit of the town. Smiling, she walked over to a fairly big lever that sat next to the large doors.
"This must be how I open these things..."
She muttered to herself as she pulled the contumacious lever back. The doors slowly began to open, but stopped halfway. After trying to make them open fully, she found that the lever was not going to move any longer. Shrugging, she whistled and watched Alenien as he trotted towards her. Once he was closer, she took his reins and smiled.
"Did I do fairly well?"
Alenien nudged her cheek as she smiled.
"Well I thought so...now, let us find who we are to meet."
Naqita made her way through the deserted village, her horse by her side. She did not want to disturb the silence that engulfed her, although it did make her feel a bit uncomfortable. Alenien could sense her hesitation as she slowed her pace, bewildered. She did not understand why she was told to come here and the mystery of it all was beginning to get to her. Sighing, she began to look around as the hair on her body began to stand on end. She couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was watching her every move.
"Hello? Is anybody here?"
To answer her question, she heard a mysterious voice calling her name from an alleyway that looked as though it would continue on for ages. Quite frightened by this, she drew her sword and walked over to the area.
"Hello...?"
As soon as she spoke again, a blinding light came out of the darkness and a loud, yet benign voice began to speak to her. Naqita squinted her eyes, trying to make out the form that was beginning to appear from the light.
"Naqita, I am here to send you on a quest."
Naqita, still squinting, shook her head.
"Who exactly are you?"
The being smiled.
"All you need to know is that I am sent from the One above."
Alarmed by this, she quickly shielded her eyes with her arm that was free.
"Are you certain that I am the one to send on this quest?"
Fear, for the first time in her life, could be heard in her voice. The angel smiled.
"Of course I am."
Gently, he removed her arm from shielding her eyes. Amazed at the marvelous angel she saw before her, she remained still, unsure of what to do.
"You are trying to save your home, Hyrule. You must go and retrieve your partner and bring him back there."
Naqita frowned.
"Hyrule..? Is Hyrule in danger?"
The angel paused before answering her question.
"Yes. Evil has returned and it 'tis up to you both to save the land. Now, you should be off on your journey to find this young man."
The angel looked towards the entrance where she had come from.
"You shall meet him north of here in Galicenal Village. He will be waiting for you upon the largest hill which overlooks the town."
The light began to fade and all Naqita could help but do was stare at the beautiful angel as he began to float upwards. Soon after, it was as if he had disappeared. Naqita continued to stare at the sky for a bit before slowly backing away and mounting Alenien. Clicking her tongue, he immediately galloped out of the town, heading for Galicenal Village.
