I do not own the concepts behind 'Alien', or any of the related material. Nor
do I hold the rights to the animated series 'Evangelion'. However, when I do
it, the press will be informed.
It was only a small meteor. When the powerful radar telescopes of NERV picked it up the MAGI computers quickly dumped the data as not relevant to the assigned mission, the watch for possible Angle contacts. It should have, by all rights, burned up during it's fairy plunge from space to the ground, making just one more in a number of shooting stars that night.
But it didn't.
This was scientifically impossible according to accepted physics. The matter present was no more than 3.004 Kg. After a long debate (a few milliseconds) the MAGI cluster flagged it for further analysis. As no AT field signature had been detected no staff would be roused, but the alert level was raised to Yellow, one above the normal. Ritsuko's display the next morning was therefore flashing, indicating that data requiring her immediate attention was present, drawing her attention as the system had been designed to do. This data packet would be the cause of, with luck, a great many deaths. At worse it could critically weaken mankind and allow the Angles to triumph. The fate of mankind would not hang on its armies or the strength of the mighty Evangelions, but on the sacrifices and bravery of a few men and women.
Mankind was about to discover that there was life out there…
…and no one could hear you scream.
