Daddy Dearest- Chapter 1

"Isabella!"
"Yes, father?" Isabella curtsied slightly, her smile saturated with false sweetness.
"Get me the remote!" Cervantes yelled over the din of their house.
"Aww, Dad! Sig's on the phone!" She stamped her expensive boot on the floor, and clutched the phone to her chest.
"The remote, Isabella!" He bellowed, reaching for another beer.
"Fine!" She said through a bout of helpless teenage tears. He grinned and praised himself inwardly. Isabella threw the remote from the other end of the room, then returning to her rambling on the phone.
"He's so unfair, Siggy! He makes me do all these chores and practice with that stupid sword every day! You better get back soon, I miss you soooo much!" Isabella squawked, as a round of "I love you" and "No, I love you more"s faded as she walked up the stairs.
Cervantes sighed contentedly at the joyful crack of the beer top. He was a simple, possessed man with a simple life. He stroked his mutton chops and flipped to ESPN, to watch the fencing match.
"Amateurs..." He muttered. Isabella ran down the stairs and slammed the phone back into its cradle.
"Daddy! Sig's coming home!" She twirled, laughing, a bit manically.

"It's time a met this 'Siggy'," Cervantes said, a tinge of malice in his voice.

"No! You'll just embarrass me like all the other times! With Kilik, Maxi, Raphael, Joe, Kevin, George, Richard, Harry, Mike, Yoshi, Yunsung, and Josh!"
"She's just like a merry-go-round. Everyone gets a turn..." He slipped in under his breath.
"I won't let you!"
"Isabella! Don't take that tone with me. I have every right as your father!" He stated matter-of-factly.
She grumbled.

"I wonder if his soul would make a good meal!" He cackled.

"Stop it!"
"Come on, lighten up." Cervantes knitted his eyebrows and shrugged, going back to the match.
"He's coming tomorrow, so just... stay clear, okay!"
"Mhmm, whatever you say..." He said unconvincingly.
