Chapter 2
Jury: We find the defendant guilty. Abbie: I really miss this place. Jack: Yeah, you're missed Abbie: (She looked at her feet) Jack....................... Jack: Yes Abbie: Never mind; want to go to dinner. Jack: Sure! Abbie: Hold on. (She went to go get her jacket in Jack's office, but she walked into her old office.) A girl: Can I help you? Abbie: Ah, no, sorry wrong office. *The girl was about 5'4" with red hair. She also had a small birthmark behind her left ear. Jack: You ready? Abbie: Yup Abbie: I met your assistant. Jack: Really! (The eyebrow rose) Abbie: So how has life been treating you? Jack: Good, you? Abbie: Ok, you know Jack I do miss you. I trusted you and you know how hard it is to earn my trust. Jack: I miss you as well. I also have moved on. You know my assistant you met. Well, she is my first love since you. Abbie: Serena is your assistant though. Jack: Even though she is my assistant, there are other people in the D.A.'s office. Abbie: Right Jack: Abbie....... Abbie: No, you are right, I should move on too. You were the only one I really trusted since law school. * Jack had nothing to say. Thank goodness their dessert was brought over. * The both did not say a word for the rest of the night. It had been two days since Jack had met with Abbie. He could not stop thinking about her. Sarah: Jack, want to come over for dinner? Jack: No I have a lot of paper work. * He was lying. * It had been five days since Abbie had seen Jack. She wished she could rewind and paused the moment she first walked in his office. Why could he move on but she could not. "Miss. Carmicheal someone is here for you." Abbie: Let them in. * Jack walked in and Abbie jumped up and hugged him. Abbie: Jack, what are you doing here? Jack: I wanted to know if you wanted to go to lunch. * Abbie knew he was there because he could not stop thinking about them either. Abbie: Yeah, I'm having a slow day Jack: Wow, a slow day in the life of Abbie Carmicheal. *Abbie chuckled knowing what he said was true. * Abbie and Jack walked out of her office just like when she worked in the D.A.'s office.
