Gordo had finally made it to high school at his own pace. Things seemed much more welcoming this time around. The seniors didn't look quite as big. The girls seemed a little closer to his own age. And best of all Lizzie and Miranda were with him this time. Yes, he had a good feeling about this year.
As Gordo was pulling his books out of his locker for first period his good mood was instantly shattered. It was the laugh. It sent shivers down his spine. He always knew he would remember it for the rest of his life. But he never thought that he'd actually hear it again. He turned around and looked down to see a girl in a wheelchair laughing at him.
"Wanna buy an elevator pass?" She mocked him.
"No! Wanna buy a stair pass?" Gordo retorted.
"Haha, stupid freshman, you don't need a stair pass at this school."
"Oh I guess you're right. I'll let you ride for free then."
With that Gordo gave her wheelchair a quick shove down the stairs. Dusting off his hands, he closed his locker and made his way to first period.
