Hi! I would just like to say thank you to the people who have reviewed. This is my first poetry, but I might write more.
The Sun is Shining Down on Me
Every time she sees me, it seems like she would say,
"Shadow, it's so nice to see you. Won't you come and stay?"
I admit I love her.
But does she love me back?
A cold unfeeling weapon,
A minion come from Hell.
Every time I see her, I want to scream out loud,
"I really, really love you, will you love me in return?"
It's like the sun is shining down on me,
They say I'm intelligent, but I really have much to learn.
I realize she won't love me,
A killer, a death-bringer,
When comes the time she turns away,
The sun's behind a cloud.
I sigh and think of my cursed half-life,
The mission's all I live for,
No happiness for me, just strife.
Why was I created?
An abomination to the world.
I would that I could die right now,
To make the pain go away.
But my true goal's not carried out,
I have a purpose still.
It is to find the inner me,
I'll search for eternity.
I lay awake endlessly, pondering,
Why was I brought into this world?
I'm sick and wet and tired,
Won't you let me in out of the rain?
But I may search forever,
Travel all over the world.
Go round and round the carousel,
But the ride may never end.
As I go on I realize,
The sad, sad truth may be:
I have no inner purpose,
There is no other me.
I long for the cloud to go away,
But as time goes on, I fear,
I may never find the warmth of love,
The sun may never shine down on me.
