The room that Harry now stood in left him in awe. Not the actual
room, but the items that the room contained that left him speechless. The
room was about as big as the Gryffindor common room, but instead of
furniture, this room had staffs, all staffs. Every color and size, from
black to yellow, from 2 feet to what looked like eight, the room was
gorgeous. He was brought out of his reverie trance when he heard Mr.
Olivander speak.
"Pick one Mr. Potter, any one."
Harry started looking around a room, many staffs catching his eye, but one caught his full attention. It was 5 feet at the least, with what looked liked polished emerald wood, and a black stone on the top. He felt as if pulled to it by a magnetic charge. Looking over at Mr. Olivander, who was still smiling, and walked towards it.
When he got close enough he could see a tiny piece of paper attached to it, so he read-
Type of wood: Elecserity Core: Grifoenix Length: 5'3" (63 inches) Controls: Element (Lightning), Shadow, and animal speech Good for: Dueling, Curses, Charms Price: 637 Galleons
"I'll take it. But I must ask you some questions." Harry said, assuring himself that this was the one that he wanted. Mr. Olivander looked shocked, and then recovered momentarily.
"Yes, I figured you would. But let's continue out to the front so I may ring up your purchase?" Harry nodded, and they carried out to the cashier's desk, where Mr. Olivander started clicking buttons, listening intently for Harry's questions.
"Okay I'm going to ask all the questions at once, and then you can answer to the best of your abilities, alright?" Mr. Olivander shook his head yes, and Harry pressed on, "Good, first of all, what is Elecserity? Second, what's Grifoenix? What does it mean when saying it controls lightning, shadows, and animal speech?"
"The obvious questions, I see. Well as to your first one, Elecserity is a magical wood that is only found in Japan, and it symbolizes power and understanding, so it of course was the obvious pick for you. To your second question, Grifoenix is the core of your staff. You see a staff is made with more powerful wood, so it obviously must be balanced by powerful cores, and no matter how strong one animal, magical or not, is, it isn't enough to control s staff. So the answer, I blend animal cores with each other, and you happened to get the strongest mix possible, that of a griffin and phoenix. Those are two very powerful creatures, if not the most powerful creatures, alive, if I may say so myself. But I must ask, why did you choose this staff?" he finished, pointing to the staff in question. Harry thought this question a little odd, but answered truthfully anyway.
"I don't know the exact answer really. It just felt like it was pulling me to it, so I chose it. It just felt right in my hands, like this was the one I was meant to have. Why, may I ask, did you inquire this answer?" Mr. Olivander's smile looked as if to increase tenfold, and he answered brightly.
"I wasn't telling the exact truth when I said that the wizard chooses the staff, instead of vice-versa. It was partially true, how ever. You see, a wizard can pick and use any staff, and it will work regardless, but only one staff can bring out the wizards true potential, and that is the only way I will sell a staff, is if it is the absolute right one. Now, that will be 637 galleons, Mr. Potter."
Harry took out his magical checkbook, and spoke-
"637 galleons to Mr. Olivander."
And a slip of paper came out of the opening at the end, reading exactly as he said, with his name printed on to it at the top left corner.
"Here you go Mr. Olivander and thank you so much. Also, I would greatly appreciate it if no one knew I was ever here, I'm trying to keep a low profile." Mr. Olivander just nodded, and called out to Harry's back.
"Good day, Mr. Potter!" Harry smiled, and then something struck him. He was in disguise; he wasn't supposed to know who he actually was. He turned around, dangerously curious.
"How did you know that I was Harry Po-tter?" he was cut half way through his last name, as he had turned around, and no one was there.
"Curious, very curious." And with that, he walked out of the store, shrinking the staff and placing it his pocket.
He walked into the street, again thinking of what he needed, and decided that he needed to visit the Magical Menagerie, which was right across the street. He needed owl treats for Hedwig, and maybe a new pet, perhaps a snake or something.
He walked in, and found the clerk washing out what looked like a chicken cage.
"May I help you?" He asked in a polite tone, but not looking up.
"Yes, I need a bag of your best owl treats, and I'm interested in a new pet. I'll need something medium size, not to small or big, but about 4 feet of so, unless it's a snake. I'd like something that could help defend me, I wish a dragon were smaller, but that's that, a wish."
The clerk's eyes widened, as if the Harry had just solved world hunger, and excitedly sputtered out something to say.
"I have just the thing, but it is a little dangerous. A scientist in Germany had been cross-breeding dragons and thing like it. And his latest experiment was to make a dragon about 4 ½ feet tall. Well, he did it, but I haven't been able to get near it. Maybe you could try to tame it. It's in the back if you wanna take a look, I just have to finish cleaning these cages and then I'll be back there, go ahead. Right through that door back there." It was obvious that the worker wanted to be rid of the temperamental beast. So Harry sympathized and took a look.
Walking through the door, the first thing Harry noticed was the giant cage in the room. But what startled Harry was the animal inside. True to the clerk's word, there was a 4 ½ foot Hungarian Horntail dragon, with its brilliant colors of red black and gold blended together. The next moment the clerk walked in and Harry quickly said "I'll take it! No matter how much it costs." The clerk looked surprised and then grateful, and then sympathizing as if it were a bad animal.
"Okay then, just come out here, sign some papers and give us your address and we'll mail it to you in two days time." Harry went out front, signed the papers, and walked out of the store.
As soon as he stepped out of the store, he noticed two others that really caught his eyes. 'Commando Combat's Combat Clothing' looked like a store with any type of clothing for dueling and war there was, and just on the side of that was 'Wraith's Wizarding Weaponry' was a store with many weapons and other stuff that looked like it could do damage. He crossed the street to 'Commando Combat's Combat Clothing' and stepped inside. He started looking around when an athletic looking woman came up, asking if she could help him with anything or if he was looking for something in particular. Harry politely said no this time and continued looking.
He soon came across a few things that he liked, such as a set of fine dueling robes, the best pair they had, said the tag. So he picked them up, and saw that they had an adjusting charm on them, so they would fit any body. They were all black, with a red trip and were pretty heavy for a set of robes. He also picked up a dragon-hide outfit, as they would come in handy for high tension Hogsmeade days, in case there were to be Death Eaters around.
He also through in a Griffin-Hair Hat, which was supposed to act like a full head helmet if he fell on his head, and he wouldn't feel anything. 'I should wear this against Slytherin in the quidditch matches.' He silently chuckled at his truthful joke, and then another thing caught his eye.
The package said Wand Wear, and it looked like it was a wand holster. Harry picked up one, and saw that it was as he thought, a wand holster. He picked up one of these, and then an question struck him.
"Excuse me, miss?" He called the Employee that had offered him help earlier over, and asked his question.
"I was wondering, do you have one of these for a staff? I just bought one and have no way to carry it." The lady looked surprised, and then said that she'd be back in a moment. She came back about 2 minutes later with a leather sheath in her hands. It also said Wand Wear on it.
"This is a leather sheath for it, you can strap it to your back of waist, and it'll fit either way. Is that it?"
"Yes thank you." Harry replied, then went and paid for his purchases, and then walked next door to the weapons store. As soon as he walked in, a medium height Chinese man approached him, and asked him the same question for the third time in 20 minutes.
"Hello, my name is Akiri, how may I be of help to you?"
"Oh, I was just looking, but I do need a sword. Something very aerodynamic and li..."
And so they babbled on. Harry had only expected to but a sword, but when he came out he had a shrunken bag in his pocket containing a set of traditional Japanese swords, a 36 inch blade Katana, and an 18 inch blade Wakazashi, a giant Battle Ax. He also had bought a muggle invention turned magical. He had bought a magical 354 Magnum Silencer, and also a Sniper Rifle with a silencing charm placed on both of them. With them he had to buy two never ending rounds of ammunition. The difference between these guns and real fire arms: These guns shot spells. You had to put the Ammunition clip into the gun, and the clip of Ammo. Had every known spell programmed into it, so it would shoot what ever you wanted, all you had to do was speak the spell into the voice box on the clip, and it was then programmed to that spell.
He had almost made it out of the store, when another thing caught his eye. A Never Ending Compartment of throwing knives. He just couldn't resist the thrill. So he went back and bought those too. He now walked out of the store 571 Galleons poorer. He stopped to think about how much he had spent and came to a total of 1975 Galleons he had spent, and he hadn't even made a dent in his Bank account.
'Wow, I'm really rich, I didn't know I had that much money, that or I didn't realize it. Well what else do I need?'
He pulled out a directory he had forgotten he'd picked up in the Leaky Cauldron.
'Well I do need to get into better shape, so I think I'll stop by this 'Wizardly Work-Outs' store and see what it has.
He came out of the store 1175 Galleons lighter, but a smile on his face.
He had bought only 4 things, and he was proud of himself for that. His eyes told people that he looked as if about to buy the store it self, there was that many neat things in it. But alas, he had only bought 4 items.
The first was a full machine, with magical weights of course. The second thing he had bought was a magical treadmill, which would expand into any type of course he wanted, and any type of terrain he sought after. It would also go to any size he wanted, so he wouldn't have to go outside for runs anymore. The third thing he had bought was a free weight set, with magical weights once again. The last thing he bought was a practice mat. It would seem like a firm mat if he was using it correctly. But if he fell, it became pillow soft. That was one of his favorite purchases thus far.
The only places he could think of now that he needed to visit were Flourish and Blotts, and his all-time favorite store, Quality Quidditch Supplies.
He walked up to the store and the first thing he noticed was that there was a crowd gathered round the window. He walked through the crowd, pushing all the little boys out of his way. He got himself to the front and saw there was a new broom out on the market.
The Inferno Bolt! The new inferno bolt is the Firebolt's successor, in every trait. At a max speed of 500 KPH and three times the turning capabilities as the Firebolt, The Inferno Bolt is a shoe in for the broom chosen by National Quidditch
Teams world wide. Name: Inferno Bolt Max Speed: 500 KPH Price: 975 Galleons per broom.
He looked up and saw that the handle was pure black, and you couldn't tell it was wood, it was polished so nicely. Looking down again he saw that the owner was now out there with him, shoeing all the kids away from the window, while looking for any buyers.
Harry quickly made a decision. He rushed up to the owner.
"Excuse me how many Inferno Bolts do you have in stock?" He asked, hoping there was enough at the moment.
"Ten, why do you want to know?" The owner asked, sounding suspicious.
"I'll take seven. And on second thought, I'll take 14 Firebolt's." The owner looked completely shocked and recovered only after Harry waved his hand in front of his face.
"Yes sir, but I'll need tom know what you want to do with them, and when you want them delivered if you want them delivered." The owner stated. Looking like Christmas had come early. Harry nodded and silently whispered into his check book the calculations for how much that would be; as he had been working that out while the owner just stood with his mouth open.
"16, 335 Galleons to Mr...Wilkins."
He had to look up really quick to see the name tag, and he barely caught it as he turned around.
"Okay then, where would you like them to go and when should I deliver them?" Harry thought about this for a moment.
"I would like to take three of the Scarlet Bolts with me, and have the other four delivered to the Gryffindor Table on the second day of school at Hogwarts. As for the Firebolts, have seven delivered to the Hufflepuff table on the same day. And also seven to the Ravenclaw table on the same day once again. Oh and don't tell anyone I was here." And with that, he showed him his check, smiled at the gasp, and left the store, carrying three Scarlet Bolts in his pocket.
He walked out of the store, intending to finish off the trip at Flourish and Blotts, as it was now dark and the crowd was diminishing. Seeing Flourish and Blotts up ahead, he quickened his pace, but stopped when he saw yet another new store.
Gizmos and Gadgets
It was a store that sold jewelry and such.
He walked in, already knowing what he wanted. He looked around, found what he wanted, and then once again got side tracked. He only wanted a platinum watch with an emerald trim, but stopped when he saw this pair.
The watch was exactly what he wanted, just as he had it described. But he never thought about the ring. It was an emerald colored platinum base, with the head of a lion as the real platinum color, chrome. They together were expensive, 999 Galleons all together. But on the way to the check-out counter two other things caught his eye.
The first was something they called a Regenitive Ear Piece Communicator. It was something you put in your ear, and if you pressed a button, it would create another one for another person, and the two people could talk to each other. It could regenerate up to ten times, so it would be great for spying or battles. The third thing that Harry liked was a trunk. It was just like Moody's old one, except it had 9 compartments instead of 7. It came with nine keys, and only one lock, so it could be more useful than not. He also bought that. All together it had cost him 1,933 Galleons just stopping by this store, but he didn't care. He hadn't even nicked his bank account.
He made his way out of the door, and into Flourish and Blotts. He started looking around for books and ended up buying 9.
He looked over his receipt, making sure he got all the books he wanted.

"Pick one Mr. Potter, any one."
