Inu Yasha No Yume

Chapter 2 - Visions

"Who is that girl?" Inu Yasha asked Kagome, suspicion clouded his voice.
"She certainly seemed interested in you," Kagome huffed.
"Wha...?!"
"Any other long-dead girlfriends you want to warn us about before they go on the warpath?" She drawled.
"Kagome!" Inu Yasha growled, stopping in mid-step. "That's uncalled for!"
She turned and saw the hurt in his golden eyes. "I know," Her voice was quiet and sad as she approached him. She rested her head on his left shoulder. "I know...I'm sorry..."
Inu Yasha blinked. That was sudden!
"Kagome-chan!" Sango called from up above.
Immediately she backed off and waved to Sango and Kirara's other passengers. "Sango-chan! Miroku-sama! Shippou-chan!"
Shippou jumped into Kagome's arms. "Kagome! We missed you!"
"I've only been gone three days, silly."
"Kagome-sama, who is that with Kaede-sama?" Miroku nudged her and the assembly turned to see.
Yume looked up as they did and paused a moment in her stride to bow to the group. Only Inu Yasha didn't return the courtesy.

(( O ))

"A Seer?" Kagome asked from Yume's left. "What's a Seer?"
"I see things," Yume explained, taking a drink from the strange container, "Past, present, and from the future. When I make contact with people or things that have been touched by people, I can see things they've seen or will see." She reached into her shirt and removed the Shikon shard, "I found this. When I touched it, I saw something through your eyes, Kagome-sama."
"I was wondering when you were going to bring it out..." Kagome smiled as she took a sip of her tea.
"You did? Oh yes. You can sense Shikon shards, right?"
"I can."
"Kaede-sama mentioned you were collecting them," She took off the thong and held it out to Kagome, "Here. It makes your task a little simpler." Kagome took it and examined the small, glowing (at least to her) shard.
"Thank you, Yume-san." She bowed from the waist, knelt, and took a bite of takoyaki fried octopus.
"Not a problem," Yume smiled and took another sip from the weird- shaped, odd-feeling container. "What is this?"
"Calpis Soda."
"From your country?"
"Yeah."
"Down the Bone-Eater's Well?"
"Yes." There was a pause.
"So you saw Inu Yasha get hit by lightening?" Sango asked, curiously.
"Yes, first when I touched the Shikon shard, then when Kagome-sama touched my shoulder. I saw more when I made direct contact with her, visions of the past. Usually, I don't get other future visions until one has passed..."
"Do you usually get more when there's direct contact?" Miroku asked from her right while leaning towards her.
"Yes, I do."
"Perhaps I could give you some direct conta..." Sango quickly hit Miroku on the head, "Ow!"
"Keep your hands at your sides!" Sango growled.
Yume stifled a giggle. "Perhaps that wouldn't be so bad, Houshi- sama." Sir, monk
"Huh?!" Came everyone's surprised response.
Casually, the Seer reached over and touched the monk's cheek.

"Remove the prayer beads and the Kaazana air voidwill release its power," His old friend was saying. "Unless you kill Naraku, the Kaazana will kill you..."

The wind wasn't blowing, it was sucking her in, ferociously. It was pulling her in, but she had to get to her father.
"Father!" She cried over the deafening howl.

"Inu Yasha!" Kagome cried out.
As she did, Inu Yasha was hit by the blue lightening that Naraku had summoned.

"You have an interesting past, Miroku-sama," Yume gritted her teeth. "The Kaazana in your right hand must be a real pain..."
Miroku sighed. "That it is."
"Again I saw Inu Yasha get hit by lightening, this time through your eyes."
"What about me, Yume-san?" Sango asked.
Yume stood and pattered over to where Sango was on the other side of Miroku. She kneeled and gently touched Sango's cheek.

Kohaku smiled, his chain sickle in his hand. "Sister! I got all of the targets! I'm getting better, aren't I?"
"Very good, Kohaku. You are improving!"

She handed the sword to Naraku. Why am I doing this?! She demanded of herself. To get Kohaku back, that's why. She told herself this over and over, apologizing to Kagome-chan and her new friends.

"You'll get Kohaku back, Sango. I have faith in that."
Sango gave her a weak smile. "Thanks."
Shippou looked over as Yume patted Sango's shoulder and jumped into Yume's lap when she sat back down next to Miroku.
"Shall I look into your past, Shippou-chan? Or even maybe your future?"
"Naw," Shippou smiled up at her with big, green eyes twinkling. "I know where I'll stay since my dad died...right here with Kagome."
"I see," She giggled and tickled him. When their flesh brushed, she got a few images of his father, Kagome, and the lightening.
"What of me, Seer?!" Inu Yasha demanded from the other side of the room.
"I'm afraid I get nothing from you, Inu Yasha. Perhaps it has to do with you being a Hanyou, but I have had no visions from you. Sorry." She heard Shippou's breath deepen as he fell into sleep.
"Keh! I'm not! I'd rather have you not know my past or future!"
"Inu Yasha!" Kagome hissed.
"What?! I don't need any obnoxious Seer looking into what's none of her business!" He stood and made for the door.
"She's only trying to help!" Kagome yelled.
"Sounds to me like she's being nosey!" He spat as he left.
"INU YASHA!!!"
Yume gently touched Kagome's arm. "Let him go. I must confess that I did try to get visions specifically from him..." A small kick in her stomach told her Shippou had been roused from his sleep.
"What do you think we should do, Yume-san?" Miroku asked.
"If it's alright, I'll just come with you on your journey. When I get a feeling of déjà vu, I'll just let you know and maybe we can avoid Inu Yasha getting hit by lightening."
"Sounds good," Kaede smiled.
"We leave tomorrow." Kagome yawned, "Get some rest."
"You can stay with me if you..." This time it was Kagome who hit Miroku on the head.
"Stay here with us." She smiled sleepily.
"Thank you so much." Yume nodded to Kagome who was dragging Miroku out by his collar. When she came back, Yume pointed to her lap, "What about him?"
"Stay where you are, we'll bring out the spare futon bed to you. He usually stays with us," Sango whispered.
"Thanks again..."
"No. Thank you, Yume." Kaede smiled, "We hope you will come in handy."
"Me, too."
"A word of caution," Sango whispered as she prepared the futon. "Miroku may be a monk, but he's an even more devoted lech."
"He'll try to grab your rear or ask you to bare his child," Kagome added, crawling under the covers; Sango did the same.
"He hasn't to me..." Kaede snorted.
Out of the corner of her eye as she crawled in (Shippou on her stomach), Yume saw Sango and Kagome cringe.
Kaede blew out the lamp and the five were in darkness. "Welcome to the team," Someone whispered.
