A/n: Okay, so what did you think to the prologue? I just thought of doing a
'What If' story asking what would have happened if it was Morgan who was
taken instead of Moira? Would it have such a happy ending like in 'Night's
Child'?
Well keep reviewing (if fanfiction lets us see them!) Thank you to all my
dedicated reviewers, especially the ones who have read and reviewed all 7
of my previous stories and if you didn't know I had 7! Look them up!

"What's wrong Moira?" I turned around to see my cousin Tierney Stevens following me to my locker.
"Nothing? Why?" I asked her, of course something was wrong, I was just putting on a brave face for people, I didn't like people to see my weaknesses, but Tierney knew me too well, she was a good friend as well as a cousin.
"Moira, come on we grew up together, I know you, something's wrong" I cast out my senses and felt her concern for me.
I was a blood witch, one of the very few that attended Widow's Vale high, my cousin Tierney wasn't a witch, she was the daughter of my mom's sister, Mary K. she wasn't a witch either, but my mom was because she was adopted into her family.
I had never met my mother, she died when I was about 2 weeks old, my dad always talks about her, tells me things about her, they we're mùirn beatha dàns, that means they were soul mates, and I can tell he still hurts over what had happened to her, sometimes I do too, I wish I had gotten the chance to get to know her.
I have quite a big family around me though; my mom's sister had Tierney and her twin brother Dylan who are 14 like me, and mom has 2 half brothers and a half sister, they were related to her through her birth father, they are called Kyle, Iona and Killian. I only ever see Uncle Killian; I've never met Kyle and Iona and I don't particularly want to. But Killian was cool, he's a single father like my dad, he has two boys, which made them my cousins too, they're called Collin and Tobias, then my mom's aunt Eileen and her wife Paula (they are gay) had adopted a girl called Louise she was nearly 18 now, and then of course my grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Rowlands.
On my dad's side I had an Aunt Alwyn, she had a daughter who was 7 called Lauren and then my dad's cousin Sky had no children but she had a boyfriend. . . I think, I could never keep up, and she had a load of sisters back in England that I had never met, and then finally there was my Grandpa Niall.
"It's just, its nearing mom's 15th anniversary, and dad's just getting a little depressed, as he does every year, which is getting me down."
Tierney gave me a sympathetic smile, I did the combination on my locker and pulled my books into my bag and slipped my bag over my shoulder and shut the locker door.
"Are you walking home?" Tierney asked, my house was only a short distance away, roughly a five-minute walk. I nodded.
"Do you want to come back to ours tonight?" she asked me, I shook my head.
"I can't my dad is cooking," my dad is a great cook and a devoted father, he's not one of these workaholics, even though he does have a lot to do, he's fulfilling his dream from home. My dad is really important to the world of Wicca; he started up the New Charter which basically improves witches standings in their communities, education, public relations, help with historical research, it also helped to rehabilitate dark witches, my dad had pulled Wicca into the 21st century.
"Oh okay then," Tierney knew we were witches, but she was slightly uncomfortable on the subject, she was a Catholic.
"I'll see you Monday," I called as I walked off.
I vowed to call Morgan when I got home to ask her why she wasn't at school, Morgan was my best friend, her mom and dad were my mom's best friends, their names are Bree and Robbie Gurevitch, they named their daughter after my mom, which I thought was sweet, Morgan is about 5 months older than me and is already 15, she's not a witch either but she practises Wicca just as Bree and Robbie do.
"Afternoon Moira" my dad smiled when I got home. I smiled and sniffed the air.
"Yes, it is your favourite" My dad laughed, he sounded very British, maybe that's because he is British.
"Yum! Pasta a la Moira!" I grinned, basically is just a pasta bake thing with mushrooms and bacon sprinkled with cheese.
I threw my bag down on the table, "Moira" My dad said with a warning tone
"Sorry" I said taking my bag off the table and putting it in the cupboard under the stairs.
"Well its Friday, Daddy/daughter night, what do you want to do? Its your choice this week."
It was a tradition my dad and me had, every Friday night and I had named its daddy/daughter night when I was about five, we took it in turns every week to choose our activity.
"Can we go see a movie?" I asked, "They're playing 'The Matrix: Revolutions' I've seen the first two.
"I wonder where she gets her taste in movies from" my dad sighed, I knew he was thinking about my mother again, "Come on dad, it's just a bunch of guy's kicking ass!" I grinned
My dad let out a small chuckle, "What?" I asked
"On one of our first dates, your mom tried to trick me into going to see a kung fu movie, she said that same thing you just did"
I smiled softly, "You really miss her don't you" I sat at the table next to my dad while he was waiting for the pasta to finish; he took my hand in his and squeezed it gently.
"She was something your mum," he smiled, "Goddess, I love her so much, I miss her terribly,"
I felt a bit sad for him; it must be awful to loose your soul mate.
"Can I ring Morgan?" I asked, He turned quickly and then realised I was talking about my friend Morgan
"Oh, yes go ahead,"
"Thanks" I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek
I picked up the cordless phone and dialled the number
"Hello?" I heard Robbie, Morgan's dad on the other end.
"Hey Robbie, it's Moira, can I speak to Morgan please?"
"Of course, hold on"
A moment later I heard muffled voices at the end of the line, "Yes I'll get it later!" I heard Morgan say.
"Hello?" she said down the phone
"What have you done this time?" I asked
"Oh, Moira hey,"
"Where were you today?"
"We went to the shelter - bought a puppy," she chirped
"Aw cool, what did you call it?" I asked
"We don't actually have a name for it yet, we're arguing over one now, and then he crapped on the carpet and I have to clean it up"
I laughed, "So you coming to the circle tomorrow?"
"Of course, what else would I do on a Saturday night?"
"Okay then, talk to you tomorrow! Bye!"
"Bye,"
I put down the receiver and then walked into the kitchen, I was pleased that my dad was just dishing up the pasta.
"Yum!" I grinned
Later on we were sat in the cinema complex with a large bucket of choc chip ice cream, there was nothing on TV so we decided to some see 'The Matrix: Revolutions' I couldn't really enjoy it much, dad forgot to mention he hasn't seen the first 2 films and he kept asking questions.
"So who's that guy, why can he fly like that and none of the others can?"
I rolled my eyes, "That's Neo, he can bend the rules of the Matrix,"
"This is too confusing" he frowned, "What about that guy that has lots of replica's?"
"He's a computer program. There has to be an equal balance of good and evil, because Neo is alive and is like this super human dude, he has all these copies to balance out the evil in the world"
My father nodded as if he was beginning to understand. . . about time.
When the film had ended my dad drove us home to our perfect sized - 2- bedroomed house that I grew up in.
"Circle night tomorrow night," Hunter smiled later that night
My dad was also the leader of our coven Kithic, he, Sky, and I we're the only blood witches, Alisa Soto was half witch but she had her mothers powers coz her mom stripped her powers and they were passed onto Alisa, so she was a blood witch too, I had recently been initiated, and Alisa was initiated about 5 years ago, she's the first ever half witch to be initiated ever and the oldest person to initiated also.
"Well," I yawned, "I'm going to Bedfordshire," I said imitating his British accent, "Night, night daddikins" I gave him a kiss on the cheek and headed up to bed.
No sooner had I hit the pillow, my eyes watered and I cried, for the first time in a very long time, I really missed my mother.
