A/n: Well, it's getting slightly more interesting, but not interesting
enough I'd say, I'm glad you guy's are bearing with me! I'm afraid this
chapter will be a bit boring for you too, we'll be taking a trip down
memory lane as Hunter explains to Moira about Morgan's "adventures"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
What the hell have I done, I really dropped myself in it now, good job Niall! I was trying to protect her from these things until I thought she was ready to know.
But then again she might need to know, how the hell did those rings get there?
"Dad, spill" she said crossing her arms, "There's more to the story of my mother than you've told me and I have the right to know, is it about how she died?"
"Oh Goddess, no!" I said
Just then Sky came back, "I'll be in the kitchen," she said then she left us to it.
"If it's not about her death why are you dodging the subject? What was with the wolf and the hawk?"
I gave in, "I just didn't want to tell you until you absolutely had to know, I was trying to protect you"
Her eyebrows creased; great I was confusing the poor girl.
I sat on the couch and then she did too.
"You're mother was everything I told you, I never lied about any of that."
She kept her eyes focused on me I had her full attention,
"Your mother was 16 when he went to her school," I started,
"Who?" Moira asked,
"Okay Moira, you're going to have to let me do this in my own time child, stop asking questions, I'll tell you everything"
"Sorry" she said
"His name was Cal Blaire" my jaw always tightened whenever I hear that name.
"He was a witch and was new to Widow's Vale and got together a group of school kids, no blood witches, except your mother, but she didn't know this at the time, neither did he."
"Hold on, I thought witches could sense other witches, it's how we tell"
"Normally yeah, but because she'd grew up without magick it wasn't obvious, anyway, he started a coven up with some of them and called it cirrus. When she realised she was a witch she learnt she must be adopted also. What no one knew was that Cal's mother was Selene Belltower, a very, very dark powerful witch, she forced Cal trick. . ." my voice cracked
To this day I could never forgive anyone for doing such evil to her.
"Its okay dad" Moira put her hand in mine
"He tricked her into loving him so Selene could get close to her and take her powers"
"Hold up!" Moira yet again interrupted, "That's why you were funny with Tim isn't it? I can't believe you!"
"Moira please try to understand that it's a father's duty to protect his children"
She rolled her eyes, "Whatever, so why would this powerful witch want mom's powers? She was uninitiated, untrained, weak"
I shook me head, "Uninitiated, untrained yes, weak no, your mother was the daughter of Maeve Riordan of Belwicket and. . . Ciaran MacEwan of Amyranth."
"Ciaran MacEwan is my grandfather!" she cried
I forced myself to continue ignoring her cry, "She was an exceptional witch, she could do things no uninitiated witch could do, and with her being the descendant of the one of the only good woodbane covens and being as powerful as she was. . . well let's say when she found her mother's coven tools it then made Morgan irresistible to Selene, this is where I came in. . ."
I continued telling my daughter the story, of how we never trusted each other and how I kept trying to tell her Cal was evil, when she threw the athame in my neck and sent me fling off the cliff, when Cal locked her in his séomar and tried to burn her to death, when Selene kidnapped Mary K. and when we killed her.
Oh Goddess these memories were killing me.
When, we discovered Ciaran was Morgan's true birth father, and he tried to kill her but stopped at the last minute when he realised who she was, when she broke up with me because she thought she was evil, when the old council tried to get Morgan to get close to Ciaran so they could finally catch him, and when he taught her how to shapeshift into a wolf. . .
"A wolf! So that's why we saw a wolf when we scryed? Moira asked me
I nodded, "I think so," Moira became very uncomfortable but devoured every word I told her about her mother.
Then I told her how Ciaran made her choose between me and him as a wolf and how she choose me, then when she was suspected of telekinetic freak accidents and had her powers reined until we learned it wasn't her but was in fact Alisa but thought it was Ciaran at the time, then how I left to go to Canada to find my parents, then when I returned with my da and a book of shadow's from Rose MacEwan, Morgan's ancestor and the witch that created the dark wave, the how Ciaran came back sending a dark wave over to widow's vale but my da created the spell to thwart it and Alisa cast it, how Morgan bound Ciaran and called me to come strip him of his powers and then when Selene's anam came back in the form of a hawk trying to kill Morgan again and Morgan had to shapeshift into one too, to kill her.
When I finished I realised that nearly four hours had passed, but Moira just sat there, mouth wide open staring at me.
"Oh Goddess" Moira gasped
"We went through a lot your mum and I –" I got cut off before I couldn't finish.
"And you wasn't going to tell me this. . ." she said just as if she was stating a fact,
"I didn't want to tell you unless you needed to Moira, I wanted to protect you from all that, from what our mom had to go through"
"Too late for that don't you think," she yelled standing up and going to put on her coat.
"Moira!?" I said getting up and following her, "Moira? Where are you going?"
"Out" she snapped, "I need to get out of here, I need some air"
Sky came running in just then as Moira ran out the door, she climbed on her bike and sped off.
I was about to go after her when Sky put her hand out and stopped me, "Don't you've got to leave her, she's just got a load of information that she could do without, just let her get her head together, she'll be back"
"But, it's nearly 10pm" I said, "It's late she needs to be here,"
"Oh goddess man, that's not what you should be caring about now, if she's not back by half past 11 I'll go after her, not you me, she's feeling a little sensitive about you right now, I should think"
I nodded, I had to calm down myself, "I'll put the kettle on, just sit you're arse down on the couch and I'll bring it in"
I nodded again, "Okay, okay," ON my way to the living room I took a last look outside, oh goddess, keep her safe, don't take my daughter from me too.
