Summary: In war, people fall. But how far do they fall?

Authors Note: I have no idea where this came from. Review and tell me what you think.

It was war, and in a war, people died. They knew this. They knew that some would fall, and that some would not, but they didn't know that some would fall and some would fall further. They didn't know that you could fall further than death. They didn't know that falling was not the worst thing that they could do to you. They were the people that followed Him, the people that fought for Him, and the people that killed for Him. They were the ones that crept about in the dark and whispered their words of death. They were the ones that crept into your home and whispered the words that were worse than death. The words that sent you screaming, that made you try and rip off your head so that you would not have to hear your treacherous thoughts anymore. The thoughts that said kill them. Kill them all. What have they ever done for you? They want to hurt you, kill you; so do it to them first, so that they can't do it to you.

And they did. The people (innocent people, they never did anything) followed what they told them to do. What He told them to do. And so they killed them, killed them all, killed their children, their wives, husbands, lovers, friends, relatives- and then the voices stopped, and left them. Left them to stare in shock at the empty carcasses that had once been loved ones. And they left them to the thoughts running through their heads- I killed them. It's my fault. And He laughed, because it was their fault, their fault for being so weak, so- inferior.

And the people that fell further than death screamed silently, screamed into the emptiness of their minds, screamed that this was not what was supposed to happen in a war. People were supposed to die; they knew this. People were supposed to fall in battle, fall in glory, fall… fall. Death was supposed to be the furthest one could fall. But the people (innocent people, they never did anything) knew that those that screamed silently did so for a reason. Because they had fallen, and they had fallen further than anyone could have expected. They fell past death, and into madness. And the madness held onto them, and would not let go- it gripped them, and pulled them farther and farther and- there was farther to fall. There's always farther to fall.

And they laughed, and He laughed, because there is always farther to fall- and the people (innocent people- but is anyone really innocent?) don't know this; they don't even realize that the people that silently scream inside their minds understand this- they know now that there is always farther to fall. They know that it never stops.

That it can never stop.

And that there is always farther to fall.
