-You Saw His Eyes-
When you wake in the morning
It's always there
He would never stay. She would fall asleep, and when she woke, he'd be long gone.
This love that aches
This love that's breaking you
That goes nowhere
She lay curled up in her bed. The cold spot where her lover had slept depressed her. Made her heart ache.
Long ago, they had gotten together. Had shared that One Night. That had been the first crack in her mask.
She was a virgin. He was not.
When she asked who had taken it, he just looked at her and she knew. Naruto. She hated him right then.
But now, lying naked in her lonely bed, she yearned for his company more than anything. But she couldn't have it. He was long gone. Long gone into the cold, hard ground. Sometimes she would visit him. And Sasuke would always be there.
And though you call out his name
It's empty air
For after all his words of love
He's just not there
She remembered last night: the hot passion, their slick bodies, and the endearing words he spoke to her. It was no different from any other night.
As she came, she would call out his name, be blinded by white. He would come soon after, grunting his release. He would collapse on top of her, telling her he loved her so very much. But she would know he wasn't talking to her. These words were the second, third, and many more cracks in her mask.
Oh fool,
To try to harvest on barren ground
Oh fool,
To try to find love where love can't be found
The day she went to the Godaime for her annual check up was the final crack.
She couldn't have children. She was infertile. She never told Sasuke that he could never restore his clan through her.
One day, to try and cheer the morose Uchiha, she made a few slight changes to her physique. When she walked into his bedroom that room, he was one happy lad. He practically pounced on her.
The next morning, he was gone. She waited for three days. Waited for him to return. She finally gave up waiting and began to search. She found him, visiting Naruto's memory.
When you wake in the morning
He might be there
This love that aches
This love that's tearing you
He just might stay
She finally couldn't take it anymore. Her mask had long ago broken and fallen away. They were about to make love one night when she suddenly burst out that she couldn't take it anymore. He looked at her blankly. "Stop making love to Naruto's memory!" she cried. A brief look of confusion, then realization. His eyes, the red from the Sharingan starting to bleed though, glared at her for ruining his illusion. He left then.
You saw his eyes:
Cold eyes
And he never did come back.
