A whole week had past, and Mia was still Kenny's girlfriend.

People had forgotten about the school dance and what had or had not happened with Michael. Except Mia, she hadn't forgotten.

And neither had Michael. In fact, he was having trouble sleeping at night because he was so confused about the whole thing. And this was a big thing for Michael, he never lost sleep over anything. But he was losing sleep over this, and he just couldn't work out why.

It couldn't possibly mean that he... had feelings for Mia, could it?

"That's absurd," Michael assured himself. But then why couldn't he sleep at night? Why couldn't he get Mia's face out of his mind? Why couldn't he stop picturing Kenny's head on a dart board?

The fact of the matter was, as Michael finally admitted to himself, he liked her.

He, Michael, popular and cool, had actual feelings for her, Mia, unpopular and uncool.

Now that he could finally admit it, it was like an alcoholic admitting his addiction, he could do something about it. Although, whereas an alcoholic would just give up the alcohol, Michael decided he would go after what he desired, Mia.

And he wasn't going to let a geeky, anime-obsessed Freshman stand in his way.

Michael picked up the phone and pressed the speedial button for Mia's place.

"Hello?" Helen Thermopolis answered up the phone.

"Uh, hello, Ms. Thermopolis, can I please speak with Mia?" he asked nervously, being sure not to say who he was, because he doubted Mia would pick up the phone if she knew it was him.

"I'm sorry, but Mia has gone out for the day, can I ask who is calling?"

Michael ignored the last part. "Do you know where she is?" he pushed.

"She's at an anime convention with Kenny."

"Oh." Michael's face dropped. "Ok, thanks anyway," he said as he hung up the phone.

But still, one setback wasn't going to stand in his way. He picked up the paper and flicked to the section that told of todays meets and conventions. Sure enough, there was an anime convention downtown.

* * *

Mia was not exactly having fun. Walking aimlessly around an anime convention was not usually how she liked to spend her Saturdays, but she had agreed to be Kenny's girlfriend, and this is what Kenny liked to do.

"Come on, Mia," Kenny eagerly tugged her to another boring stand.

"Mia!" a voice behind her called out.

She turned around to see Michael Moscovitz striding up to her, the very last person on Earth she'd ever expect to see at an anime convention.

"Oh, God, what do you want?" she asked him, hoping that he wouldn't be able to tell that her heart was beating a hundred miles an hour.

"I need to talk to you. About us," he added softly so Kenny wouldn't hear.

But Mia apparently, didn't care if Kenny heard. "What 'us', Michael? There is no 'us'."

"But there could be..." Michael continued. "Don't you want there to be?"

Mia couldn't deny it. At least not inside she couldn't.

Outloud she could though. "No, Michael," she said, though not as strongly as she would have liked. "I'm with Kenny now, and you can't just come between that."

Michael looked over at Kenny, who was too engrossed in whatever was at the booth to have noticed anything around him.

"But, Mia..." he started.

"No buts, Michael."

Michael looked like he was going to give up for a second, then it was as if he pulled himself together because he stepped towards her and kissed her on the lips.

Unfortunetly it did not have the effect he had been hoping for. "Get off me, Michael," Mia pushed him away. "Where are the cameras, huh? Where are the cameras?"

"There are no cameras," Michael said, taken aback.

"Yeah, right. All you care about is yourself. Just leave."

Michael, realising he'd first have to prove himself to Mia, but not knowing how, turned and left.

"Right then, next booth, Mia," Kenny turned and said to her, completly oblivious to the scene he'd just missed.

Only one chapter to go. And as for my sequel to Creep, I think I'll have that ready to go up in the beginning of May, but don't hold me to that. I might out in some more teaser lines for you too...
