Hey! Ok, I know I should probably be writing the next chapter for
Everything Is Alright If I Just Breathe, or The Dance That Never Was (I'm
nearly done) but I thought I'd take a break from them and write some
fiction, as well as some one shots. This one isn't the most original, but
oh well! Here it goes!
The summer had come, another rough year passed. Oh the things young Ron Weasley had seen in that year alone. His father in St. Mungos...Percy devastating the whole family...the department of mysteries...Sirius had died... Harry had so much fear and despair that it sometimes turned into anger that was unleashed upon he and Hermione.
The death of Sirius and the nearly fatal attack on his father had made him realize something. He now realized how important life was, and how quickly it could be snatched away. He could lose anyone at any moment, without one last goodbye. That's when he made his decision.
Had he talked with Hermione earlier. She was to meet him downstairs after everyone fell asleep. Harry hadn't arrived yet so he would have no problem getting out, and if Ginny was still awake, Hermione would just say she wanted to go down stairs and read.
So at ten-thirty, just as they had planned, Ron walked downstairs to wait for Hermione. Five minutes later she came down. "Hey." She said quietly.
"Hey."
He stood up to greet her; they both took a seat. "So, what did you want to talk about?" asked Hermione.
Ron took a deep breath. He had planned out exactly what he was going to say before hand, now all he had to do was say it.
"Hermione, we've been through some terrible times, and the worst are yet to come. All of this has made me realize something. I now know who important time is, how important everyone moment you spend with someone is. You never know when it could be the last."
Hermione wasn't sure where he was going with this, but his words were so sincere and almost uncharacteristic. "There's something I need to tell you before something happens to me, or something breaks us apart."
Hermione began to cry. "Don't' say that, Ron! Nothing is going to happen to you nothing will ever break us apart! We'll always be friends!" She leaned her head on his should. Why was Ron saying such horrible things?
"Hermione, please don't cry. Shhh..." But she kept on. Ron put his arm around her to comfort her. "Hermione, listen I..."
"I'm sorry, Ron. I just can't take the thought of losing you."
"And I would die if I lost you. That's why I need to tell you this now. Hermione, I love you. I have for the longest time, years actually, but I just couldn't tell you."
"I love you too." She said with a smile. Then Ron kissed away her tears.
So did you like it? It's not my best, but I still think it's not bad. Please check out my story One Of These Days I Won't Be Afraid! I really think you'd like it! It's a one shot as well, but it's my favorite fanfic I've ever written. It's about the last battle with Voldermort. When something happens to Hermione, what will Ron do? Well anyway, I hope you check it out, and thanks for reading! Please review and tell me what you think!
