Painful Duelling
Joey stared helplessly at the clock, silently praying for the day to be over. He was lucky enough to avoid Seto for the whole day. However he could feel his presence near, his eye's on his back and the warm hand on his shoulder.
"Hey Joey man, are you coming?" Joey suddenly sprung from his seat and shot under the teacher's desk.
"Ah, Joey what are you doing?" Tristan asked with a rather dull expression. As did Yugi, Ryou and Tea. Joey's head suddenly peaked out from under the desk.
"Is he here?" He asked anxiously, as his little eye's peeped around the room. Once he found the was no sign of Seto he got up with a shade of pink across his face.
"Ah, heh. He's not here is he?" His friends were feeling some hidden engenders, Joey walked back to his seat, packed his stuff and tip toed to the door. Slowly turning the handle he poked his head round door and then whipped round to flatten his body against the wall. However his friends came out the class room normally and walked beside him.
"Joey the last time I saw you walking around like this is when we threatened to post that picture of you around the school." Tristan laughed at fond memories of their earlier years. Joey began to loose his focus when everyone began to laugh.
"Shh, sh, shhhhhh!!!" Joey rounded them up and shoved them into a near by closet. The room, as you could imagine was tight, Tea was forced into a bucket of soapy water. Yugi had Ryou's foot in his face and Ryou's face was sat on Tristan's lap. However Tristan seemed to be at the bottom of it, whilst Joey tried to desperately close the door. Just as Joey predicted, Seto waltzed past, glancing from left to right. He sighed and walked away again.
"Few, he's gone." Joey breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly Yugi collapsed forward, causing all of them to fall out and landed roughly on the ground. They all groaned jadedly.
"Wheeler." Joey peered up and decided to give in. He groaned again, more angrily now. He stood and pulled Seto out the door by his sleeve. Joey made sure no one was around before he slammed Seto against the wall and began to yell at him.
"What's the big idea? I have nothing more to say to you, why are you stalking me?" Seto unexpectedly reached into his brief case and pulled out Joey's red silk shirt.
"You left this behind. Please Joey, you didn't let me explain." Joey's anger grew again, he snatched up his shirt and embarked on walking away. Seto's blood boiled in this heart, he wasn't just going to dismiss this.
"Wheeler!! Not matter what, you can't run away, you're going to have to come to your senses.." Joey was so far away now, he didn't bother to shout his last message.
"I…love you…" Lucky enough for Joey, his friends had caught up with Seto, just in time to hear his last words. They disappeared into the shadows as he walked to his car and they were about to catch Joey, despite their plan, he was gone.
Later that evening, Joey was playing a multiplayer duel online, against an anonymous duellist. He clicked once more and red letters flashed across the screen. - 'You Won.' Joey chuckled and twisted around in his chair, flinging his arms, left right and centre.
"Ha, ha, loser!!" He typed in a message to his opponent.
'Well, you have a good technique but you need to work on different strategies.' Sending it, he was offered to play a new opponent, he pressed play again and letters flashed - Duel!! Both of them started with 2000 life point. He first laid his Axe Raider in attack mode, afterwards ending his turn. His opponent was taking longer than Joey liked. He decided to prompt him.
'Well; are you gonna make a move.' He drummed his fingers across the wooden surface, suddenly a message came back.
'Hello… Wheeler.' Joey's eyes bulged out.
"What!! Seto!! No way, I'm not duelling him." Joey snarled and typed to him.
'What do you think your doing!! I refuse to duel you!' A waited tolerantly.
'What, are you afraid to duel me?' Joey could only imagine what he was thinking right now.
"Stupid Seto!!"
'No, I'm not afraid of you, fine we'll continue - but if I win, you promise never to talk or even look at me again. Including at the bar, duels and school.' He knew that Seto wouldn't be able to pass up a challenge.
'Fine, but if I win, you promise to meet me for one date. No complaining, moaning or unfriendly faces.' Joey cringed , he knew there would be a catch.
'Okay, I accept your terms.' Once it was sent, Seto laid down one Blue Eyes White Dragon and a card face down. Joey smirked sinfully as his virtual deck drew a Skull Dice trap card, he laid it down and waited for Seto to make a move. He also laid a card face down and then attacked with his Blue Eyes. Joey smiled and typed.
'I don't think so Seto.' He activated his Skull Dice, Joey leaned forward, this roll counted for everything…. It landed on a six.
"Ha, that means his Blue Eyes with an attack of 3000 decreases to 500!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, hoping he won't disturb his sister. However nothing had appeared to be changed.
'Why, isn't your Blue Eyes weaker than my Axe Raider?'
'Well if you try looking behind my Blue Eyes, you'll see that I laid a magic card - Remove Trap.' Joey's eye's watered as his dragon came toward his Axe Raider. His breath shortened as his assault discontinued and left Joey with three hundred life points.
'I'm sorry to have to do this, but I must obliterate you to see you again.' Seto typed disappointingly.
'You won't defeat me Seto, you cold hearted bastard.' Joey refused to believe that Seto ever cared for him. His tears slipped across the keyboard when he thought about that night.
'Joey laid there, watching Seto's calm features whilst his chest slowly rose and fell. Joey never thought he could ever be this happy. He had many fantasies of him and Seto making love. But never thought it would ever come true. But now that it happened, he never wanted to leave him.
Then he had a distressing thought, 'what if Seto insulted me after this, what if he was drunk and would regret it by the morning.' He stared at his face again, finding a small trace of a smile. Joey lost his thoughts in Seto's face and decided to leave all this worries till the morning.'
He cried a little harder before the screen flashed red letter's - You Lose!! Joey's heart sank, he didn't realise there was a time limit for his move. He was so busy evoking over his anguished memories, he forgot about the duel.
'Well, Joey, I'll pick you up around six o clock tomorrow evening and wear something; sexy.' With no other reply Seto went offline. Joey couldn't believe that he wasted his turn on a stupid recollection. One that didn't mean anything cause Seto didn't care.
"Ahhhh!!!" He screamed and flung the monitor across the room. Soon he slammed his fists against the wall, till his sister entered.
"Joey, are you okay? What happened in here?!" Serenity was stunned by the mess. Joey turned away from her face, afraid to show the sadness in his face.
"Sis, you'd better sit down for this." She quickly sat down and relaxed, patting the space next to her. He plonked down beside her and ran his hands through his hair.
"Well it all started the other night…." Joey told Serenity about his wonderful night with Seto and how he lost his duel and that he'd have to go out with him.
Serenity sat there no really understanding it all, but she knew she had to be there for her brother. He continued to cry. She wrapped her arms around his shoulder's as much as possible and tried to comfort him.
"Come on big bro, it'll only be one date - talk to him about how you feel and if you wish, you'll never have to see him again." She smiled a little and placed a small kiss on his cheek.
"Come on, you've done a lot more harder things in life - this'll be cake." He eventually finished and stood up.
"Your right, I mean one little date can't hurt. Thanks sis. I'm heading off to bed." He cheerfully bonded upstairs and prepared for the next day.
