Hi, all. My first Sev/Mione fic. Hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I, Cirith of Slytherin, do hereby announce to all that I do not in any way, shape, or form own these characters. That honor goes to the great J.K. Rowling who would be kind to release the next book soon.

*THUD* The brown bag carrying groceries fell to the ground, unnoticed by the girl who had dropped it. She was staring at her house, her house that had the Dark Mark hovering over it. Slowly she picked up the bag and went inside, knowing what she would find. She closed her eyes, refusing to look, until she had set the groceries in the kitchen. Then she turned around and looked into the living room. There, on the couch, were her parents, dead. The girl stood there, looking down at her parents, until the Ministry wizards came.
"Hermione Granger?" asked one of them. She nodded, still not looking up.
"I think you should wait awhile before you question her," came a familiar voice. This time, she did look up, right into the eyes of Albus Dumbledore.
"Very well, sir," said the wizard from the Ministry, and left her alone.
"Miss Granger, I suggest you pack some things. Later this week, I'll send a teacher with you to finish getting your things. You may spend the rest of the summer at Hogwarts," said Dumbledore. Hermione again nodded, and turned away, going to pack her things.
Dumbledore Apparated the two of them to the school, and then showed Hermione to a room she could use for the summer. Then he too left her alone. Hermione set down her bag and went to sit in one of the chairs. As she sat there, her whole body started to shake. Then she started crying silently, which quickly turned into loud sobs. And so she sat in that chair crying until Professor McGonagall came to get her for dinner. She wiped away the traces of her tears and went down to dinner with her Head of House.
"Ah, there you are, Miss Granger. Come sit up here, we have plenty of room," said the Headmaster when they reached the Great Hall. Hermione could see that there were three empty seats, which would leave one when she and Professor McGonagall sat down. Not even bothering to see who still hadn't arrived, Hermione sat in one of the two seats next to each other. A moment later, another figure came through the doors. Looking up, she saw it was Professor Snape. ::Oh, goody. I get to sit next to him when my family has just been killed.:: Sure enough, the sound of swishing robes settled down in the chair next to hers. All attention focused on the Headmaster as he stood up.
"As I'm sure you can see, we have added a new member to our table for the summer. Miss Granger's family has just been killed by the Death Eaters. Therefore, she will be staying with us for the rest of the summer. I know you will all try and make her feel welcome in our little summer community. Now, with that said, let us eat." And there on the table appeared dinner, in all its Hogwarts glory.
Hermione wasn't very hungry, but she managed to eat a little. In her minds eye, she could still see her parents' bodies, their lifeless eyes looking up at her. After she had finished, she got up and left the Great Hall. Once out of there, she turned her steps to the large doors leading outside. She kept walking until she reached the lake. Then she sat down and cried again.
