"The Naming of the Cousins"

The naming of cousins is a difficult matter,

After Lilo and Stitch have tamed;

Kauai echoes their pitter-patter

And the experiments must be named

First of all, there's the number that Jumba calls them,

Such as 625, the closest to 626,

the superior 627. Or 628 then!

All of them sensible everyday numerals

There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,

Some for the gentlemen,

some for the dames;

Such as Felix, Tank,

Angel, Clip--

But all of them sensible everyday names.

But I tell you, an experiment needs a name that's particular,

A name that is peculiar, and more dignified,

Else how can it keep up his or her tail perpendicular,

Or use their imbued talents, or cherish his or her pride?

One whip of 513's tail causes a destructive quake,

After a scale, he is renamed Richter,

601, Kixx, a fitness instructor make.

It takes two to tangle, so some run in pairs

The thieving Bonnie and Clyde strike a pang.

501 and 502 -- fire and water, male and female

Opposites complement -- Yin and Yang

No one seems to object to their new name

Nosy's nosy, Sinker sinks ships

Elastico's clowning is a cheerful game

How did Lilo come up with Stitch?

Sometimes they sound threatening --

Hammerface, Plasmoid,

Some are funny -- Hunkahunka, of love

Sparky, the power-surger

Or Houdini, who in reality is a dove

Some just plain describe what they do

The DeForestator chops down trees

The Babyfier turns back the clock

Melty, the little dragon, melts

Poxy makes purple-pimple-pox.

Each experiment is unique, beautiful

Special, a light of creation

He or she gets another chance at identity

Rather than life as an abomination
