Snake stood in the doorway of his new home in Alaska, taking in the walls,
the floor, the ceiling, everything. He had only bought it one week ago, and
was still getting used to it. He held bags of shopping. He had just been to
the shop for supplies. He hadn't wanted to, but Meryl told him to. He was
sure that most of this stuff wouldn't get used; just sit in the back of the
cupboard, gathering dust. But Meryl had told him to, and he didn't want to
do anything to get angry with her. It was their wedding tomorrow.
"Snake! You're back!"
That was Meryl now. She ran down the stairs and kissed him on the lips. "Meryl. I got the stuff for our wedding tomorrow. But I swear they'll have this stuff, if we ask."
"Snake," she said simply, placing a finger on his lips, shushing him. Snake smiled at her. Her head moved closer to his, and they shared a passionate kiss.
