Summary: Simon runs into a familiar person.

Chapter 5 of The Big Fight!

Eric was lying in a bed. He had checked into a dirty cheap motel after he had left the house.

~*Eric's POV*~

Why did I leave? Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, and Ruthie are all going to hate me now. Oh why did I leave? How did this whole thing start? Oh yeah, I can remember. It all started when Annie said my sermon that I spent days writing was stupid. Then we just started fighting all the time. But we managed to hide it from our kids. But then Simon found out. We made sure he didn't tell his brother or sisters. Then, I just left. I don't remember if Annie threw me out or if I just left on my own. I wish I could just go home and fix this whole thing. Fix my marriage, and my family too. This is going to tear my family apart; I just know it. But I can't go home, not after this. Maybe I should go to my sister, Julie's house. I don't know what to do. I don't know anything, anything at all.

~*End of POV*~

Eric(looking out the motel window)- Why me?

Meanwhile out in the streets. Simon was trying to find his dad. But it was late. He had no idea where to look. He had no idea where his dad was. He had wandered so far from home, he'd never make it back. Basically, he was screwed.

Simon(to himself)- Where can I go?

Familiar Voice(from being Simon)- I know where you can go.

Simon- who said that?

Voice- Look behind you.

Simon turned around to see Robbie Palmer walking towards him. Robbie was Mary's ex-boyfriend. And Simon hadn't seen or spoken to him since a Valentine's Day incident with Mary.

Simon(surprised)- Robbie Palmer?

Robbie- Yeah, it's me.

Simon- how did you recognize me?

Robbie- you were talking to yourself. I remember your voice.

Simon- what did you mean when you said you know where I can go.

Robbie- I meant you could stay with me if you want.

Simon- how can I trust you. I mean after all you did lie to Mary and my parents.

Robbie- I've changed since then Simon.

Simon thought about it for a moment. Sure, he didn't trust Robbie all that much. But he had nowhere else to go.

Simon- Fine, I'll stay with you. But you better not try anything...

Robbie(cuts in)- You can trust me, Simon.

Simon- Fine, I guess I have to. I have no better choices.

Robbie(pointing left)- My house is this way.

They started to walk towards Robbie's house.
