Chapter One: Weasley's Wizard Wheezes

It was the summer after George and Fred had left Hogwarts, and they were working on their new joke shop, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. It was already a popular place for many people, ages 17 and below.

Finally, one day, they had a peaceful 5 minutes to themselves after a load of customers coming in and buying all the Skiving Snackboxes they could get their hands on.

"Oye, Fred, I need more Puking Pastilles," George called over his shoulder. "We're all out!"

"Splendid," Fred grinned, tossing over a large box. "This is our last one. Looks like we'll need to be making more stuff." He sighed happily. "Business is doing great. Maybe we can give Harry something, after all, he's the one who gave us the Galleons to make it this far."

"Good kid," George nodded. "Alright, let's give him this last box, for free." He stuffed it into a gift box and charmed a ribbon to tie itself around it. "Honestly, why didn't we get Outstanding in our O.W.L.'s? We know much more stuff than any of the gits in our year."

"Nah, we just didn't know the boring useful stuff," Fred grinned. "Did Mum send another Howler today?"

"Not a Howler this time," George shook his head. "Just a letter, she's finally accepted this whole joke shop thing. Maybe it's because I bought her and Dad some new robes last week."

"You got them robes?" Fred raised his eyebrows. "Nice." He tossed a box of Blood Blisterpods aside. "I gave Dad a Muggle thing called a flashlight and I gave Mum a clock."

"A clock?"

"Well, that ridiculous one we have gives us all the useful information except for time," Fred shrugged.

"You've got a customer," the magic alert whined over them.

"Another one?" George wiped his forehead. "Give me a break. I'm so tired from all this selling." He stood up straight and put on a crazy

smile.

A girl walked through the door, maybe a year older than them or younger. She was pretty, with long chestnut hair that reached down to her waist, and she had bright blue eyes. She smiled cheerily. "Hello."

"Welcome to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes," George said brightly. "How can I help you?"

She shrugged. "Just browsing." She looked with interest at a Portable Swamp.

"How much are these?" she asked, holding them up. "I could use something to drive my mother insane."

"10 Sickles," Fred said, grinning. They hardly ever had a hot female customer come in and take interest at their stuff. The others were mostly with their moronic boyfriends.

"Yeah, these sound good," she nodded. She took one and went up to the counter and handed over 10 Sickles.

"Excellent," George said, taking the money. "Have a great day."

She didn't leave. She was staring at the twins with more interest than she had with the Portable Swamp. "You guys are really something, you know."

"Huh?" Fred and George looked at each other.

"Oh, sorry," the girl said. "I'm Inona Ledor. I was in the year after you, in Ravenclaw. I must say, I'm quite impressed."

"Oh, thanks," Fred and George said together.

"Yeah, this is amazing," Inona said, smiling. "I'll be uh, back for more jokes. See you later then, right?"

"Right," Fred said, happily.

"Take care," George called.

"Have a great day," Fred said.

"Goodbye," George smiled.

"Adios," Fred said.

Inona laughed. "See you guys. Bye!"

George turned to Fred after Inona had left. "Adios?!"

Fred shrugged. "Hey, she was cute."

(( Don't worry, in the next chapter, there will be less Inona and more amusing Fred and George adventures, even though this is supposed to turn into a bit of a romance. Good gracious, it seems I have a thing for romantic stories, eh? ^^;;))
