Blending In

A/N: I know, it's a lame title, I just took it out of a line from the story.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything besides the story.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Come on, pick up, pick up, pick up," Lizzie whispered to herself.

"Hello?"

Suddenly Lizzie couldn't talk. Just hearing the sound of Gordo's voice made her nervous.

"H-hi," she finally managed, "I-I was just wondering if we could go and do something."

"Sure," Gordo said, "What do you feel like doing?"

"Well," Lizzie replied, "The Digital Bean's closed for a month because of construction work and there's nothing good playing at the movies."

"Oh," Gordo sighed.

"H-how about we just walk around and just see where we end up?" Lizzie asked.

"Alright," Gordo said, "I'll be at your house in five."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Lizzie hung up and turned to her closet.

What to wear, what to wear, what to wear? she thought.

She started flipping through her closet, trying to find something that would impress Gordo.

Suddenly she heard the doorbell ring. She looked down and decided that her jeans and red and black striped t-shirt would have to do. She pulled her hair into a ponytail, swiped on some lipgloss, and grabbed her jacket. She headed downstairs.

~*~*~*~

A few mintues later, Lizzie and Gordo were walking to who-knows-where. They soon found themselves at an un-named place, but was known for a hangout for teenagers.

It was kind of a park-like place. It was outside, and there were benches everywhere. Couples were walking hand in hand, and some people were kissing.

"Let's sit on a bench," Gordo suggested.

"Good idea," Lizzie agreed.

So they found a bench and sat down.

They didn't talk for a long time, and couples passed by them, and some people were staring at them.

"Uh, Gordo?" Lizzie stammered.

"What?"

"Everyone's staring at us."

"So?"

"So, it's kind of freaky," Lizzie said, "It looks like we're outcasts or something."

Probably it's because we're not making out," Gordo told her.

Lizzie froze.

"Gordo! We aren;t dating or anything!"

"I never said we were!"

"Let's just forget about this!" Lizzie sighed.

More and more couples walked by, staring at them.

Lizzie galnced at Gordo. She looked away the minute he glanced back.

The same thing happened three more times after that.

More and more people were staring at them.

Lizzie and Gordo just sat awkwardly, taking it all in.

"Gordo?"

"Lizzie?"

They said at the exact same time.

"You go first," Gordo told Lizzie.

"Maybe we should, like, try to blend in a little," she nearly whispered.

"How?" Gordo said softly.

"Like this," Lizzie whispered.

She placed her hand on Gordo's cheek, then leaned in and gently pressed her lips against his.

She pulled away and stared at him.

Gordo stared back, then leaned in and kissed her.

And that's how they spent their afternoon, finding themselves in a place where they didn't expect to.
