The day flew by and soon it was evening and the sun was about to set. James found himself walking by the lake again, thinking about life. He was so deep in his thoughts that he stumbled across the stone in front of him and he fell onto the ground. Swearing, he got up again and noticed another white envelope under the leaves on the ground. He took it, looked around and sat on the ground. The envelope had his name on it just as he had thought. He took the letter out and started to read.
"Dear James,
Why were you up so early today? I saw you climbing out of the portrait when I walked into the common room. I bet you didn't notice me. Again. Do you ever recognize me when you aren't around your friends and admirers? Only then you have something to say to me. It's sad. Isn't it? Well, at least it's sad for me. You were great today at Transfigurations, as always. The way you turned your rat into the cat at first attempt! I only succeeded on my third attempt and even then the cat had mousy hairs and rat's tail. Oh well, at least I could do it, most of the class didn't achieve as much. You know what I think? I think that you'll become Animagus one day. You certainly have all what it takes. I wonder what your form would be? I suggest a deer, a wolf, maybe, or eagle. I think that I would be a small bird or maybe a fox. Fox would be great, I like foxes. What about you? What animals do you like? What is your favourite food? Who are your parents? How did you meet Sirius Black? I just realized how little I know about you. It's quite sad, really. I only know that you're a brilliant Quidditch player, a captain of Gryffindor house team, brilliant at every subject, best friends with Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew and your parents are quite rich. And that's it. You probably don't even know that about me. Nor do you want to know more. I wonder what you're doing right now. Oh, there you are, coming back from dinner with other boys. And girls. You don't even cast a look on me. There you go, up to the stairs and into your dormitory. Soon you'll be back here, talking and laughing. I better move, before you notice me writing a letter. That may seem too suspicious. Oh, here you come. Time to finish. Bye!
Love,"
James stood up and put the letter into his pocket. It was quite dark already and so he headed back to the castle. So this girl is in Transfiguration with him? It means she has to be in same year as he is. This makes the number of possible candidates down to five: Samantha Grey, Carmen Trice, Mandy Creole, Laura Hill and...Lily Evans. Oh god please let it be her! he thought to himself while going through the front doors. Please!
A/N: How was it? What should I change about it? Reviews are really appreciated!
