Requiem of Sorrow
Yoshi slowly cracked open his tired eyes. He was in some kind of prison cell.
He looked out into the hallway that passed by the cell. He sensed there was something wrong.
The hallway looked old and decrepit, aged with time. There were many cracks and fissures in the
wall, but the strange part was there were no weeds or moss, no spider or flies, nothing. As yoshi
contemplated this, he suddenly heard a strange noise, it sounded almost like someone was
laughing. "Hello, is someone out there?" Yoshi cried out weakly, wishing an answer, but also
dreading it.
His voice echoed through out the place, sounding hollow and strange to him.
"Where the hell am I?" yoshi pondered. "And how did I get here?" he wondered. He slowly walked
around the room he was imprisoned in. He let out a small gasp as he saw an old skeleton
shackled to the wall. He reached down to touch it, and the whole thing turned to dust.
He walked up to the cell door and saw there was a rusty, warped lock that he could easily shatter.
"Before I bust this I better get some sleep." and with that Yoshi promptly fell asleep.
Several hours later Yoshi awakened. He really didn't feel much better than before, but he
figured he'd have at least a little extra energy. Yoshi then approached the opposing lock. With one
well timed punch he shattered the frail device and the door swung open with a soft noise. Yoshi
then stepped out from his cell and into the hallway. He almost fell over though when he saw a
message written in what looked like blood that read: NOT ALONE. Yoshi realized this was not
here before, his fear beginning to grow.
He started walking down the left corridor, occasionally peering around nervously.
He suddenly heard voice echo from far away the words, "Yoshi your going mad!".
Yoshi cried out "Who's there!" mustering up as much courage as possible. No one answered,
and once again it reverted back to being as quiet as a tomb. He then saw a portrait on the wall
that made his jaw drop.
