Chapter 4: Leaving
As soon as she walked in the house, Haruka was confronted by Michiru and Setsuna, both of who looked annoyed.
"Haruka...," Michriu started.
"-there is no excuse for not calling or something to let us know you weren't dead! Or worse...," Setsuna finished.
"Fine, I'm sorry," Haruka said as she went upstairs, not wishing to engage in an arguement with them. Setsuna and Michiru looked surprised; they had expected Haruka to make excuses or argue her way out. They had never seen her like this before.
Haruka went up to her room, just wanting to be alone. She was scared that she had let Seiya find her greatest weakness. But for some reason, she trusted him. She lay on her bed, staring up at the ceiling for a while, trying to clear her mind.
"Seiya's still in a bad mood?" Taiki asked Yaten as he set his books down, looking around. He had just come from studying at the library with Ami and had come home to find Yaten parked in front of the TV as usual.
"I don't know," Yaten shrugged, flipping through the channels.
"Oh great...doesn't he know that she's engaged and has a daughter from the future?" Taiki asked, sitting down in a nearby chair with one of his favorite poetry books.
Yaten turned to look at him slowly, his eyes wide. "What?!" he exclaimed. Taiki merely looked at him as if he was stupid. "Haruka's engaged?!" Yaten asked, shocked.
"Haruka? I thought Seiya was still hung up on Usagi," Taiki said, rolling his eyes. "You don't think...," he said, unable to continue.
"I don't know for certain but he's been acting oddly since she was here," Yaten pointed out, finally putting down the remote.
"I he liked Michiru..," Taiki said thoughtfully.
"She does seem more of his type than Haruka would be," Yaten agreed. " Seiya seems to be cursed, first falling for Usagi who was engaged and now Haruka who hates him," he said, turning his attention to the TV show. Taiki put down his book and went upstairs to find Seiya, hoping he could reason him out of his slump.
Seiya stuffed the last of his stuff into the bag and closed it. He was going to go back to Kinmoku for a while, to allow himself some alone time, time away from Haruka. Princess Kakyu could help him and after he came back, he would have the senshi of the wind and heavens out of his mind. But a part of him knew he couldn't forget her.
