Chapter 6: Night

The stars were clear, the night air cold. Seiya sat in the courtyard of Princess Kakyu's private wing of the palace, looking up at the night sky.
Princess Kakyu watched him for a moment silently as she paused in the shadows. To her, it seemed like Seiya was searching for something in the night sky intently.
"There is something bothering you?" she asked as she came up to him, putting her hand softly on his shoulder.
"Princess," he looked up at her, surprised.
"Relax," she said, sitting by him. Seiya nodded and she looked up at the sky with him. They sat in silence for a while.
"If you want to talk, I am here for you," she said quietly after a moment.
"Thank you, your highness," Seiya said. Kakyu wondered what, or who, made Seiya like this.
"Usagi?" she guessed.
"No," Seiya shook his head. He couldn't explain it all to Kakyu and every thought of Haruka just made him miss her.
Kakyu was surprised that Seiya was not still disappointed about Usagi. When he found out that she was engaged and had a daughter from the future, he had been depressed for a few days. But this was something more, she suspected. And this time she hoped it worked out for him.

Haruka sat on the counter of the kitchen, looking out the window. Michiru was talking cheerfully about something about Hotaru as she put dinner together but Haruka was only half listening.
Since Seiya had left, she hadn't thought of him and had surrounded herself with her life. She certainly had been sleeping better at night.
"You seem distant," Michiru suddenly said, looking at her.
"I'm just tired," Haruka said, getting off the counter. Michiru watched her go, not knowing what to think.
"Don't worry about her, she'll be fine," Setsuna came into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of tea.
"What are you talking about?' Michiru asked, confused. She hated when she was at a loss and had no idea what was going on. She hated when her mirror remained blank to her questions.
"Nothing," Setsuna shrugged, ignoring Michiru's annoyed look. Michiru was frustrated when Setsuna would say things and not explain her remarks.
"What are you saying?" Michiru asked but Setsuna only smiled to herself.
"Never mind. I let my tongue slip," she said, going out, still smiling to herself. Michiru watched her go, tapping one fingernail on the counter in annoyance.
