Chapter 22: Together Again

Luna lead Haruka to the deserted park where her and Artemis had agreed to meet.
"What is going on, Luna?" Haruka asked, almost shortly. Luna looking around, trying to think how to stall.
"Well, I'm trying to think on how to explain this..." Luna started slowly.
"Take your time," Haruka muttered.
"I'm in a difficult situation here..." she started but stopped when Seiya and Artemis appeared.
"Sorry we're late" Artemis said, breathless.
"That's fine. Haruka, Seiya, we brought you here today for a purpose. There is something going on that I think you should be aware of," Luna said seriously before Haruka or Seiya left.
"Make it quick," Haruka snapped, ignoring Seiya.
"It has come to our attention that there is someone who was determined to keep you two apart," Artemis continued.
"Who?' Seiya asked coldly.
"It was Yaten who suggested that you go out with Minako, wasn't it?" Artemis asked him.
"Yes. I didn't want to but he was practically shoving me out the door," Seiya said thoughtfully.
'That doesn't explain the letter," Haruka said harshly.
"Letter?" Seiya looked lost.
"Don't try that act on me!" Haruka glared at him.
"It's expected that he doesn't know about the letter considering that he didn't write it," Luna pointed out.
"That was Yaten. Taiki was kind enough to give us the rough drafts he found in Yaten's drawers this afternoon to confirm what we suspected," Artemis explained.
"I don't believe he would do this," Seiya said in disbelief.
"I know. We'll leave you two alone," Luna said softly. She and Artemis left them as the sun started to set and the darkness fell over them. There was a heavy silence between them for what seemed like eternity to both.
"Haruka, I'm so sorry..." Seiya looked over at her.
"It wasn't your fault," she sighed, watching the sunset. Silence descended again.
"I still love you," he said, unable to think of anything else to say, knowing he sounded stupid but he had to break the silence between them. He held out a hand to her and after a moment, she took it, but still avoided his eyes. She would wait until she told him about the baby until later.
"What do you want to do about Yaten?" he asked her, moving closer.
"I'm sure Princess Kakyu can deal with him," Haruka said. She knew that given the chance and the opportunity, she would make Yaten suffer.
"I'm sure she can," he agreed and leaned down to kiss her as the sun disappeared behind the horizon.
