Chapter 24: Engagement

Princess Kakyu put down the message that Taiki had sent her, stunned. She had always known that Yaten could act foolishly but if what Taiki had told was true, what he did was simply....wrong.
"Princess," Yaten came in, almost afraid. He didn't know if Taiki had contacted her of what happened with Seiya but her face was blank.
"Yaten, please come in," she said, leaning back in her chair, amused at his obvious discomfort. She waited until he sat down , looking nervous.
"Yaten, I am concerned about what has been going on Earth," she started. Yaten cursed to himself silently, knowing Taiki must have sent her a message.
"I am very disappointed with your conduct and thus I will rethink letting you return to Earth," she said firmly.
"WHAT?!" he exclaimed, furious. Kinmoku was his home but Earth was so much more exciting. Besides, on Kinmoku he had to attend to his duties as a sailor senshi but on Earth he could be lazy.
"I can't trust you to act appropriately in the future so until your behavior improves, you will remain here," she said in an even tone. She wanted to give Seiya space to fix his relationship with Haruka without Yaten interfering.
Yaten stormed out of her office, fuming. Minako had cut his hair and now he was stuck on Kinmoku. Life was so unfair.

The next morning dawned bright and clear, waking Seiya as the sunlight streamed though the window. Haruka was still asleep next to him, her hand still holding his. Haruka woke to see Seiya looking down at her, his hand still holding hers. "Morning," he said, kissing her lightly. She smiled at him, relieved that she was no longer plagued by morning sickness for the most part. "Haruka, there was something that I wanted to ask you," he said seriously, putting something in her hand. Looking down, her eyes widened when she saw the thin gold ring engraved with intricate designs and an amber stone set in the middle. "Would you marry me?"
