A/N- Song fic. Kind of mundane and boring but hey all song fics are. To the
tune of "Hello" by Evanescence.
"Playground School bell rings again Rain clouds come to play again."
Aragorn's eyes bored into the pale skin of his beau. Her soft black hair fell across her face and her eyes seemed to be made of glass. They did not show any of the laughter and joy that was her life before today. The showed no sign of the happiness of her child and her husband. The life had been taken from her cheeks and her lips were cracked and dry. Her once beautiful smile was gone and her mouth hung agape, air slowly moving in and out. Her body was limp as she lay on the day bed, the last wisps of life leaving her. The figure that once thrived with life and energy was weak and cold to the touch.
"Has no one told you she's not breathing? Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to Hello"
He dropped to his knees at her side, tears swelling in his eyes. His own crown felt heavy on his dulled gray hair, the wrinkles in his brow furrowed as a little glistening bead fell from his eye. Arwens neck strained as she tried to lift her head to look at him one last time. Aragorn raised his hand and ran his fingers through her hair, and her head dropped again. Her hair was course and thick and broke easily. He lifted her hand and cradled it in his own. Her long fingers were lifeless, like gaunt swords in the moonlight.
"If I smile and don't believe, Soon I'll know I'll wake from this dream"
He put his head back down and squeezed his eyes shut. 'Wake up, wake up!' he cried in his head. But he knew this was not a dream. In dreams you didn't feel the true pain of the loss of a loved one. In dreams you didn't watch them on their deathbed and be forced to just watch. In dreams you wake up before the worst happens, but his eyes were wide open. In dreams, nothing truly awful happened, nothing changed the entire world that he knew. But this was no dream. He lifted his head to face the sky, his eyes still closed. His whispered to the gods, praying that she please live one more day.
"Don't try to fix me I'm not broken Hello I'm the lie, living for you so you can't hide Don't cry"
He dropped his head, the weight of the world heavy on his brow. When he opened his eyes, Arwens eyes looked into his own. Her hair looked less beautiful, more matted and dull. Her once vibrant green eyes looked dull ivy, their life stolen away. She opened her mouth to say a last word, but sound came out. She ran her frail fingers over the rough skin of his cheeks. He gripped her hand in his own. She was stone cold, her skin white beneath his brown complexion. But her hand slipped from his grip and her face turned to the sky above them. She was gone.
"Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping Hello I'm still here All that's left of yesterday"
He stood up, his face solemn. Her hand dropped, lying limp at his side. Tear streamed down his cheeks as her eyes closed and all color life her face. She was gone, forever and ever. He was alone now; the world loomed ahead of him, their jagged claws and lashing teeth killing him slowly. There was no safe home anymore. The was no anyone anymore...
A/N- Wow, doesn't that just make ye want to cry? * tear * Alright, please review for me and I will post more!
