Maria sat uncomfortably in the chair, "I dun like it." Amy sighed, "It's
not that bad." "But I wanna walk." "You can't." "Swim?" "No." "Run?" "No."
"Skip?" "No." Amy answered again, Maria sighed, "Then what is it that I can
do?" "Be quiet for a moment, the doctor is coming." The doctor strode in,
and looked at Maria and smiled, "Good news, you'll only have to be in that
chair for three years if you do the therapy correctly." Maria squealed with
happiness, "I'll go tell Shadow, and Sonic!" Amy smiled, Maria wheeled away
as the swinging door stopped, and Amy looked at the doctor, "What's the bad
news?" The doctor showed no emotion, "The therapy will cost a large amount
of money. It works it's just many people prefer to wait." "No I can pay for
whatever Maria needs!" Amy said indignantly, the doctor sighed, "The
therapy will cost $1500 per month, that's over what you probably get in
income yearly." Amy nodded, 'That's more then I make in a year....' "Also the
wheel chair is an additional $500. I would advise for you to wait and-"
"No! I'll do what ever it takes to get Maria back on her feet! I will!" Amy
stomped her foot, "Ms. Rose I understand you are willing, but are you
willing to put yourself into debt and finance?" Amy hesitated, 'I'm tight
on money as it is, but Maria is worth more than money, and she lasts
longer, how am I going to get the money?' "You think about it Ms. Rose."
Amy walked out and saw Maria, pride swelled up, 'I'll do whatever it
takes!'
Amy walked along the empty sidewalk Sonic and Shadow had taken Maria to the Mystic Ruins she told them that she didn't feel like going. She put her hands in her pockets, 'How am I going to get the money? I am on a tight budget, and I'm practically over my head with bills, how am I going to do this?' Amy shook her head, 'I'm not qualified for anything, but what?' Amy walked into a small café and sat down, she ordered a tall latté with whip cream. The waiter brought her, her drink and she smiled and said thanks she closed her eyes and sipped the drink. "Hello Amy." A voice greeted surprisingly warm.
Maria looked at the Tornado and smiled, "Wow! Tails built this he must be real smart!" Tails blushed with happiness, he liked having someone looking at everything he did and telling him it was good, Maria wheeled around, and looked at the Tornado, "Does your plane fly?" "Yes I'll take you in a ride if you like." "Really? Please! Please!" Maria begged and Tails smiled, "Okay, I'll go tell Sonic and Shadow that we are going to be flying off." Maria bobbed her head happily and Tails went off to tell Sonic.
Amy put down her latté and looked up half annoyed, half surprised, "Rouge?" The bat gave Amy her quirky smile, "Hi hun, what are you doing out here?" "Well I-" Amy began. "Look let's cut to the chase, I know you need the money and I want something, so if we work together we can both get what we need." Amy looked at Rouge now interested, "What is your proposition?" "Well there are two jewels both worth over 2 billion dollars in the black market, I have one of them but I need an assist for the second." Amy searched through Rouge's eyes, "Stealing is wrong." "So is letting your friend live in misery for the rest of her life." "Only for seven years!" "And then she'll be what? Fifteen? Fourteen?" Amy looked down, "Not interested." Amy went into thought, '2 billion dollars, I can pay of my debt and pay for Maria's therapy and I'd have enough money left over to take everyone places, and Sonic might like me! Oh and the clothes!' Amy sighed, "Fine, when are we going to go to the job?"

Maria said happily she wheeled around and Shadow grinned, "I'll take you around this crummy island let's see how fast we can go." "Okay!" Maria said happily, and Shadow took the wheel chair by the handles and zoomed away and Sonic turned to Tails, "So ya think you can help her?" Tails shrugged, "I think so the doctors to the place where you went to are overdramatic and pricey." Sonic nodded, "That a yes?" "Maybe I need to do a few X-rays." "They won't hurt her will they Tails?" "Not at all. " Tails said, "But if I can't, we can do the treatment at the hospital." "I don't like going there." Sonic looked at the clock, "Kay. I'm gonna call Amy and tell her we might spend the night over here."

When she saw Amy she shrieked, "Oh Renee! You are okay!" Rouge gave Amy a hug and Amy returned it, and the policeman smiled, and she stopped hugging her. Amy smiled, "Hey Rouge!" Rouge smiled and Amy went inside, and Amy heard Rouge thank the policeman, and close the door. Amy smirked, she felt all giddy, happy, alive. She wanted to do it again and again the feeling was incredible. Rouge grinned, "Well while you were distracting the policeman I got the money so here is your share...and here's mine." Rouge handed her the money and Amy smiled and grabbed the money out of Rouge's hand, Amy flipped the money listening to the sound, she felt powerful, she looked over to Rouge, 'If the jobs are simple as that I can get a lot more, let's see what else she's been holding out on me.' Amy looked at Rouge, "Do you need any help in the future call me." Rouge smirked, "Glad to, I have another job tomorrow night, want to come?" Amy smirked, and flipped the money in her hands, "Be glad to."
