Maria looked at the giant emerald in front of her, "Knuckles what's that?"
Knuckles looked up, "That's what I protect do NOT touch." "But what is it?"
"It's called the master emerald." "Is it the master of all emeralds?" "In a
way it can stop the chaos emeralds power." "Oh okay, Knuckles?" "What?"
"Why can't I touch this?" "Because I'll kill you." Maria blinked, "Really?"
"No kid." Maria smiled, and stood up and slowly walked over to Knuckles
seeing Tails, "Is he gonna be alright?" "Yes he should be fine in the
morning." "K. Do you live here by yourself?" "Yes." "Doesn't it get lonely
up here though?" "Not really it's my destiny to guard the master emerald."
"So you can't take a break?" Knuckles grinned at the small child in front
of him, "What do you think?" "Yes?" Knuckles just kept grinning listening
to the child contradict her.
Sonic frowned, "Although me thinks we should wait until tomorrow when everyone is rested, Knuckles is grumpy but he has no patience after something annoying or bad happens." Shadow nodded, "Sonic's right Amy, it will take Knuckles a while to cool off." Amy sighed, "But-but! What if he hurts her! Or what if he-" Sonic shook his head, "He won't hurt her Amy, YOU have to think about what you have done, we also have to find Tails, he was captured by Eggman to."
Knuckles looked at the now confused child she was sitting down thinking, but she was confusing him to, it was kind of funny. Maria looked up, "I dun know what I think because I'm confused." Knuckles grinned again, "No I do not take breaks." "So then how did you watch over it when you saved me?" "That was more of an act from the original schedule." "So why isn't that a break?" Knuckles looked at the kid, "You just want to prove me wrong." "No I'm just confused." Maria sighed, and looked up at Tails, "Knuckles what happened to Tails? He's been asleep for an awful long while." "He just got knocked on the head by one of Eggman's robots." "Knuckles...I want to learn how to walk again. Can you help me? I already can stand up and stumble around." Knuckles looked at the kid, "Walk?" "Yea Eggman made my legs useless and I've only been sitting for a week and I'm bored, I wanna walk." Knuckles sighed, "Well I'll try." Maria smiled and out her hands, "Yay!"
Amy sighed and looked out at the ocean, Shadow and Sonic had gone to talk to knuckles and they told her to stay behind, 'I am a fool, Amy Rose you stole and broke Maria's heart. She saw you with Eggman and you ignored her for a week when you knew she had called you. You didn't bother to talk to her at all...*flashback* Amy walked into her apartment and saw the message machine blinking, she went over and pushed the button, "Hi Amy, it's Maria, I'm wondering if you are okay. Sonic, me, Shadow, and Tails had a lot of fun today but I miss you. Where are you? Please call back-" Amy sighed and pushed the delete button, 'Boring...what about this next one?' She sighed it was Sonic and Shadow obviously worried she cut them off to, she then had one message left, "Yo Amy this is Rouge, I have another job and it pays well. Meet me at my place at six." Amy grinned and got her coat and ran out of the door. *End of flashback*' Amy began to cry, "I was such a jerk!" Amy looked at the cliff, tears streaming down, "I've done the ultimate wrong, lying, hurting, and double crossing my sister, and friends. So I have to pay the ultimate price..." She began to walk towards the cliff, and as she was almost at the edge she began to run but only to be held back by Sonic. His hand gripped her shoulder, "Amy what are you doing?" "Punishing myself."
Sonic and Shadow ran around Angel Isle, "Man where is that stupid Master Emerald? Did he move it or something?" Shadow smirked, "Doesn't the faker know where it is? What happened to 'I know exactly where it is?'" "Shut up Shadow." Shadow shrugged, and his ears pricked up he heard laughing, Sonic heard it to, they both ran to it to see Maria walking towards Knuckles a little on the wobbly side but she was still walking, and Tails was there to, he was watching in amazement, Maria fell but Knuckles caught her and grinned, "Keep trying kid, Rome wasn't built in a day." "What's Rome?" Maria asked and Tails grinned, "It's an ancient civilization that was ruled over by Julius Caesar." "They were ruled over by a salad?" Tails sweat dropped, "Uh no that was his name." "Okay!" Maria said happily and sat down, she began rocking back and forth, "Tails do you know everything?" "No." "Then why do you always have all the answers to everything?" "Because you ask things we already know." Knuckles pointed out, "Oh. So if I asked you something you didn't know you wouldn't know the answer so then you had to ask someone who does know everything?" Knuckles sweat dropped, "Yea we'll go with that." Tails looked up, and smiled as he saw Sonic and Shadow. Sonic waved and Shadow was looking at Maria, Knuckles looked up and his face faulted into seriousness, Maria looked up and smiled, "Yay! Shadow and Sonic are here!"
