A/N:-Hi, sorry I aint updated in a while, I've been really busy with school work and stuff….what happened to all my reviews? I swear I was getting loads a few weeks ago.
"So it's just the three of us then?" Remus asked as he greeted his two old friends.
"I don't know. Peter should be here" Sirius said. "I haven't seen him ages, he's been keeping busy since we left Hogwarts"
"Well, it's nearly dark I think we should get going." James said. They were at his parent's house. There was a large forest in the back garden that they explored during the holidays.
"Ok," Remus said. James gave him a grin as they walked out into the garden. As soon as they stepped into the cold air James turned into a large beautiful stag.
"Hello Prongs." Sirius said putting a hand on Prongs' head. Remus, Sirius and Prongs started walking deeper towards the forest. Remus suddenly stopped and keeled over. Sirius looked slightly alarmed and he immediately turned into a large black dog just in time. A large werewolf stood in front of Padfoot and Prongs. Remus was a werewolf, he had been a werewolf for most of his life. In their fifth year, Sirius, James and Peter became illegal animagi so they could keep Remus company. Sirius turned into a large black dog, James a Stag and Peter a rat. The only person outside their group who knew about it was Lily. April knew that Remus was a werewolf but she had no idea the others were Animagus. The three large creatures bounded off into the forest to play for a while. Prongs missed going on their excursions like this. It was fun and they got to learn more about their surroundings. As students the Marauders had created the Marauder's map of Hogwarts. They had hidden it in the entrance of a hidden passage to Honeydukes in Hogsmeade in the hopes that a student in the future would find it. The Marauder's map was a map of Hogwarts with all it's hidden passages and it showed where all the people in Hogwarts were in the castle.
Padfoot suddenly caught the scent of something on the air and sniffed up in the air. Moony also smelt it and let out a loud howl.
What is it? Prongs looked at Padfoot.
Smells like your owl, Prongs Prongs looked up at the sky and in the gaps in the trees he saw his large barn owl flying through the air with a letter in it's beak.
I'll go and get it, look after Moony for me. If I don't return it's because it's urgent.
or to do with Lily. Padfoot gave a sort of grin and a happy bark. Prongs shook his head and headed back to the house. When he got there he saw Peter standing at the front door. Peter turned quickly when he heard Prongs approach.
"Oh, it's only you Prongs." Peter said. Prongs quickly turned into James and James gave a smile.
"We thought you weren't coming." James said
"I was busy at work." Peter said. James nodded and gave Peter a brotherly hug. Peter reluctantly put up with is and looked around the house.
"Moony and Padfoot in the forest?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, Full moon." James said. He looked into the sky to see his owl flying down to him. "Aha." The Owl landed on James' arm and gave James the letter. The owl then shimmied up James' arm and James stroked the owl affectionately.
"That why you're back?" Peter asked looking at the owl.
"Yeah, apparently it had April's scent on him" James said. He opened the letter and read it.
James, it's April. Your mum and I are at your house with Lily. She's really ill. She's been throwing up all afternoon. Please come home quickly Lily really wants you here. April.
James frowned and folded up the letter.
"Lily's ill." James said to Peter. Peter pretended to care.
"Go to her then." Peter said. James nodded.
"Come with me, she'd be pleased to see you." Peter gave him a half happy smile but James was too involved with his problem to notice. James apparated to his house in Godric's hollow. He was on the landing when her heard a retching sound from the bathroom.
"James." April said slightly surprised as she came out of the bedroom.
"April, where's Lily?"
"Follow the retching sounds." April said going to the bathroom. James followed her and saw Lily perched over the loo. James' mum had her hand on Lily's back and was rubbing it gently.
"Lily." James said going to her side. A few seconds later Peter popped his head around the door. Lily tried to stop retching and soon managed to stop anything else from coming up.
"Are you alright?" James asked. Lily nodded and sat back straight. She looked very pale and quite ill.
"That's it, dear." Mrs. Potter said. April handed Lily a towel and Lily wiped her mouth with it. James took her hand and Lily felt slightly better immediately.
"Have you taken a potion to calm your stomach?" James asked.
"Yeah, it came right back up." Lily croaked. Her throat was sore and very painful. The acid from her stomach had burnt her throat. James hugged her tightly and kissed the side of her face.
"Will you be alright now?" James asked. Lily nodded.
"I hope so." Lily said. She got up shakily, holding onto James for support.
"Is Remus in the forest at home?" Mrs. Potter asked, James nodded. "So you won't mind if your dad and I stay the night. I always feel somewhat uncomfortable when he's having his transformations."
"Of course." James said. April sighed and gave Lily a sympathetic look.
"Are you sure you're ok? You got quite a beating today." April said. James looked at April confused.
"Beating? What beating?" James asked.
"Oh, Lily got caught up in another Deatheater attack." Mrs. Potter said. "Just missed a curse from Voldemort himself." James tensed but Lily put a hand on his chest.
"It's alright, I'm fine." Lily said as if reading his mind. James frowned.
"Are you sure? What happened?" James asked.
"He missed when he sent a crucio curse at me and I sent a stunning spell his way which rebounded and hit me." Lily said like it was no big deal.
"On the plus side you saved the Muggle Prime minister." April said perkily. Lily nodded.
"Well I better go and tell your dad we'll be staying here tonight." Mrs. Potter said.
"Ok, I'll get a room ready as soon as I put Lily to bed." James said. Mrs. Potter disappeared.
"I don't need to go to bed." Lily said. "I just want to rest."
"You're going to bed." James said firmly. "I don't want to risk you getting even more ill."
"What about Remus?" Lily asked.
"Padfoot is looking after him." James said.
"Sirius is looking after a werewolf?" April asked alarmed.
"Don't worry, he's in the house and watching out through the window." James lied. Lily knew what James really meant. April looked a bit relieved.
"Peter" Lily said surprised as she saw the short chubby man staring at a small photo on the wall. He jumped as he turned.
"Lily, are you ok?" he asked in concern.
"I'll be fine, just a stomach upset." Lily said.
"Not a stomach upset, you've been ill since this afternoon." April said.
"This morning actually" Lily said, "But it's fine really. I just need a potion." James stopped Lily and looked at her. He put a hand on her cheek.
"Lily you're ill. Go to sleep for a while." He said, his voice was full of concern. He kissed Lily's forehead, as attractive as Lily was and as much as James loved her, he wouldn't kiss her on the lips straight after she'd been sick. Lily gave him a slight smile.
"And there's an emergency Order meeting in three days. You have to be better by then because we both have to give reports." April said.
"There's an order meeting?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, about the attack today. Dumbledore said he wants Lily, Moody and I to give a couple of reports." April said, "Just to fill in what happened."
"Ok. Well. Lily." James said turning to Lily. "Bed." Lily was about to protest when James spun her around and pushed her into the bedroom.
"How have you been Peter?" April asked. "I haven't seen you in ages." Peter looked slightly displeased.
"Well, I've been really busy recently. My new employer is keeping me really busy."
"Really? What do you do now?" April asked interestedly. The two went to the Kitchen and April got a drink out of the fridge.
"Oh, I just work for…magical Law enforcement." Peter said. April looked quite impressed. She had to admit that she didn't think that Peter would get a very good job. He had nearly failed all his NEWTs and he'd always been a bit hopeless at school.
"That's cool" April said. "Auror experience finishes in a few weeks." April said happily. "I hate going out there and not being properly prepared to fight the deatheaters, I have picked up a few news spells and curses but I still feel unprepared."
"Who's your mentor?" Peter asked. April looked at Peter,
"I'm not allowed to say." April said regretfully. Peter nodded.
"Rules are rules aren't they?" Peter asked. April smiled. Peter was a lot more talkative then he had been while he was in Hogwarts. "How are you and Sirius?" Peter asked. April couldn't help but smile.
"We're great. I love him so much." April said grinning to herself. "It's stupid that I feel like this really"
"You two were destined for each other." Peter said, "But I was talking to him the other day and he seemed a bit iffy about talking about you. He mentioned a few other girls that he'd met at Quidditch matches and places like that." April looked at Peter seriously.
"What?" April asked, "That's ridiculous, Sirius would never do anything like that to me." April smiled at how silly that comment was.
"Well you remember how many girls liked him in Hogwarts, it's a bigger world now, more women. Well I have to go." Peter said rubbing his arm slightly. "I'll see you at the meeting." Peter disappeared with a wave of his wand. April put her drink down, was Sirius cheating on her? No, he couldn't be otherwise he would have told her. They loved each other more then anything, Sirius wasn't cheating on her he wasn't like that.
* * * *
"Are you ok?" James asked as he tucked Lily into bed.
"I'm fine." She said smiling. She felt a lot better and a lot happier now that she had gotten the throwing up over and done with. James was frowning and paced around the room anxiously.
"Are you sure, I could get you something to eat, no that's no good." He said, "I will bring the TV upstairs or-" Lily laughed.
"James, I'm fine, just sit down." James nodded and sat down on the bed next to Lily. Lily cuddled up against him and he put his arms around her. "All I need is you to stay near me." James smiled despite himself.
"If that's all you need then that's what you'll get." James said, "My Lily flower" He added with a smirk. Lily hit him slightly annoyed. That had been the nickname James had given her to annoy her in their sixth year. She had always been Evans or 'My Lily Flower' where as he had been Potter or 'That stupid, big-headed son of a bitch' but she regretted ever being the least bit horrid to him now.
"How many times have I told you to-"
"Never call you that? I know, I was just poking some fun at you." James said smiling. Lily made a noise of comfort and closed her eyes and buried her head on James' chest. Her stomach was still doing flips like she could be sick at any moment but as long as James was with her there was no chance of her being sick.
"James," Lily said after a few minutes of silence.
"Yeah?" James asked, he ran his hands through Lily's dark red hair.
"Do you think that Sirius and April will get married one day?" Lily asked. James thought for a while.
"Sirius isn't one for actually making too much of a commitment." James said thinking for a while. "But he has stayed with April for a long time. So maybe, yeah." James said smiling. "But only time will tell.
