The meeting ended and April and James rushed out to find Lily sitting in the room next to the meeting room. Lily was sitting reading a book of helpful medicinal Potions and looked quite interested in it.
"Does she never read?" Sirius asked joining them.
"Lily, are you alright?" James asked approaching her. Lily looked up and smiled.
"I will be." Lily said. "In about three months, unfortunately." Lily sounded slightly sour but everyone looked at her confused.
"In three months?" April asked. "What's happening in three months?"
"I'll tell you at home but I need to speak to James on his own. Can you tell Remus and Peter to come round in about an hour?" Lily said to April and Sirius. April nodded.
"Of course. Is it good news?" April asked.
"I hope it will be for you guys" Lily said uncertainly.
"Oh before you do go Dumbledore would like you to go to the school tomorrow and go and meet him there. Apparently he needs to talk to you." April said. Lily nodded, she had a feeling she knew what it was about.
"Thanks, is there anything else that I should know?" Lily asked. James looked at her uncertainly.
"Sirius and I have to go on a quick assignment up north."
"What!" Lily asked annoyed.
"It'll be really quick. It's just to collect some information." James said quickly.
"Is it dangerous?" Lily asked.
"A little." James said looking to Sirius for help.
"Yeah it's just a bit dangerous but Prongs and Padfoot will get it."
"You refer to yourself in third person?" April asked looking at Sirius. He snaked his arms around her waist.
"I think we should go to my place and celebrate your assessment."
"Lily wants to speak to us in an hour." April said.
"Still time." Sirius said. He gentle kissed April's lips. "Meet you at home." He said. Sirius disappeared and April rolled her eyes to look for Remus and Peter.
"What do you need to talk to me about?" James asked. Lily frowned and looked at James.
"At home." Lily said. She got her wand out and apparated back home. James appeared a few moments later.
"So?" James asked. Lily put her hands together and twisted them slightly.
"I don't know how to tell you this but I think you should sit down." Lily said leading James to the living room and sitting him down on the sofa. She sat next to him.
"Is it that serious?" James asked.
"Sort of." Lily said. "It'll put a huge dent in our finances." James looked at her confused. "Ok, I'll just come out with it. You know how I've been sick for ages?" James nodded, "Well it's because of something that I'll tell you in a bit but the sickness is called morning sickness." Lily said, she stopped for a quick breath. Something seemed to click in James' head and he looked at Lily to say something. She put a hand to his mouth and gently touched his mouth.
"Let me finish." Lily said nervously. "Basically. Morning sickness only occurs in the first few months of Pregnancy. That means that I'm pregnant and you're going to be a dad. Dumbledore seemed to know before me but James, we're going to be parents." Lily said quickly and nervously. She waited anxiously watching James' face. He seemed very passive and showed no expression.
"You're pregnant?" He asked pointing at Lily. Lily nodded. "And you've just found out?" Lily nodded
"You're the father." Lily said as if to reassure him. James nodded seriously. Lily frowned anxiously.
"You're right." James said. Lily looked at him confused. "It makes sense, your really weird mood swings, the sickness. I'm afraid we're going to have to turn the spare room into a child's room." James said grinning. Lily grinned as well. James pulled Lily, unexpectedly, into a hug and pressed his lips against hers. He lay Lily down on the sofa and lifted her shirt slightly. Her flat stomach showed no signs at all.
"Our baby is in there?" James asked stroking Lily's belly.
"Yes" Lily said grinning. James kissed her stomach and then looked at Lily.
"I'm going to be a dad." James said excitedly. Lily grinned and grabbed the front of his robes and pulled him up so that his face met hers.

Lily nestled in James' arms as they sat on the sofa watching the TV. James was still absolutely fascinated with it and often flicked through channels in the middle of a show. Today Lily didn't mind but then Lily and James weren't really watching the TV. James had a hand almost permanently attached to Lily's belly and kept whispering happy comments to her. Lily couldn't help but get the impression that James loved the idea of being a father. He also occasionally gave Lily pecks on the cheek or kissed the top of her head. Lily had to smile at this, James was amazing.
"Do I even want to interrupt?" Remus said, his voice floating over the noise of the TV. Lily looked up over the top of the sofa and smiled.
"Remus, sit down. James and I were just talking." Lily said.
"Sure you were." Remus said smiling softly. James slipped out from under Lily.
"I'll go and get some butterbeers." He said.
"Ok." Lily said grinning. James gave her a quick kiss and looked at her stomach before letting go of her and wandering into the kitchen.
"I hope this is good news." Remus said, his smile gone.
"Have you found anyone yet?" Lily asked.
"Nope. Still recovering from Jenny" Remus said.
"She died a year ago and you two stopped seeing each other two years ago." Lily said slightly surprised.
"So? I still loved her."
"What about work?"
"Nope, there's been this new very minor law put in place which means I can only really get a job at the ministry."
"Don't you want a Job there?" Lily asked frowning.
"Not really." Remus said. He sat down on a chair by the fireplace and looked at the TV. "You know this device is ingenious." Remus said pointing to the TV.
"Muggle Television. I love it." Lily said. The fireplace suddenly roared to life and two figures stumbled out laughing.
"We are never doing that again." Said April. Her usually shiny clean blond hair was now covered in soot and both Sirius and April's robes were covered in soot.
"How about a journey back?" Sirius asked seductively. April looked intruiged but shook her head.
"I have to be at work early tomorrow." April said. Sirius sighed and turned to Lily,
"Impossible." He said. Peter suddenly apparated into the living room right in front of April. April gave a start of surprised and sat down next to Lily.
"Sorry." Peter said with a smirk like he thought it was funny.
"What's the news?" April asked eagerly. "Is it good or bad?"
"Good." Lily said smiling. James came into the room and everyone was there. He carried several bottles of open butterbeer.
"Butterbeers!" James said handing bottles to everyone. When he came to Lily he held her bottle back. "Oh, none for you. It's bad." James said. Lily glared at him. Everyone thought they'd misheard. When had Butterbeers been bad for Lily?
"Not yet." Lily said holding out her hand.
"Ok, but just this once." James said giving her the spare bottle. Lily took it and rolled her eyes. "Well, people, friends, brothers." James said like he was addressing the audience of a theatre, "Lily and I have good news for all of you, well good for us but hopefully for you as well."
"Good sir, do not hold us in suspense." Sirius said. James grinned and looked at Lily.
"You tell them." He said. "It's your surprise." James moved away so everyone could see Lily.
"Well," Lily said awkwardly. She really wasn't sure how anyone would react. "James and I areā¦having a baby." Lily said. The room was silent.
"Excuse me?" Peter asked, recovering first. "A baby?" Lily nodded
"I'm pregnant." Lily said to clear it up. Lily looked at April. April had a huge grin on her face.
"I'm going to be an aunty!" she said throwing herself at Lily and giving her a tight hug. Lily was knocked back and April and Lily both spilt their Butterbeer.
"I have to go." Peter said. "Just remembered I got some work,"
"Ok." James said smiling.
"Congratulations." He said quickly before disapparating. Sirius and Remus got up at the same time. Sirius patted James back.
"Well done mate." Sirius said, "Knocked her up good." James gave him a stern look. "Just kidding!" Sirius said putting his hands up innocently.
"Congratulations." Remus said. "I'm really happy for you. You'll make a good dad." James grinned. Lily sat up, recovering from April's excessive hugging.
"Well it's still nine months, roughly, until we actually have a baby." Lily said.
"Can I be its god mother?" April asked.
"Maybe and most likely." Lily said.
"Hey!" Sirius said. "I'm going to be its godparent."
"If it's a girl call her Jenny." April said to Lily.
"Of course." Lily said, "We have to keep her memory alive somehow." Sad looks both flew through the girls' faces but they soon recovered.
"As Lily said there's still nine months so there's plenty of time to decide on names." James said.

Lily picked up a handful of Floo powder the next day. She had the day off work for illness and she couldn't apparate to Hogwarts because of a few spells on it. She conjured a fire in the fireplace and threw the powder onto the fire. She hated travelling by Floo powder but she had to.
"Dumbledore's office, Hogwarts." Lily said as she stepped into the now green fire. She held her arms close to her body as she travelled through the Floo network. She could see all the other grates that led off to the different places. A few minutes later Lily stumbled out of a fire place. She coughed as she patted some soot off her. She looked around. This wasn't Dumbledore's office. Lily took her wand out and looked around.
"Lily!" said an excited voice. Lily turned quickly to see a girl in a Hogwarts uniform running at her. She was a Chinese girl who had long black hair and was smiling broadly. Lee Chang, Jenny's younger sister.
"Lee?" Lily asked confused. Lee ran to her and hugged her tightly.
"What are you doing here?" Lee asked.
"I've come to see Dumbledore but obviously I've gone past a few too many grates." Lily said uncertainly "Where am I?" she asked.
"Ravenclaw common room." Lee said. Lily instantly recognised it when Lee told her. Lily had to come here last year to collect some prefects. "I'll take you to Dumbledore." Lee said. "Come on." Lee led Lily out of the common room and they walked out past a tapestry of Ravens and down a corridor. There were a lot of people in the corridors and several of them waved at Lily when she passed. Many of them knew her as the head girl who stole James Potter. Lily gave them smiles back. It was weird being back at her old school without April, James or Jenny.
"How are you?" Lily asked Lee.
"I made Prefect again and everyone thinks I'm going to be head girl next year. I really hope I am head girl." Lee said "What about you? How's James and April and everyone."
"Oh everyone's great. All fine." Lily said. "Me, on the other hand, am a different story." Lee looked at Lily confused as they passed the stairs that led to the great hall.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm pregnant." Lily said quietly. Lee stopped and stared at Lily. "Come on. I really need to see Dumbledore." Lily said pulling the girl after her.
"You're pregnant?" Lee asked. "Oh that's great but aren't you a little young?"
"I got married didn't I?" Lily asked.
"Yeah but still, a baby is a huge responsibility."
"And I am the most responsible person I know." Lily said. They came to a large stone Gargoyle. Lee said the password and a set of stairs appeared. "I'll see you soon." Lily said.
"Ok." Lee said. "I have to go and tell mum and dad about the new baby."
"By the way. If it's a girl, she's going to be called Jenny, after your sister." Lily told Lee. Lee looked slightly stunned but grinned. Lily went up the stairs and went through a door into a large circular office.
"Lily Potter." Dumbledore said from behind his desk. Lily smiled and looked around the office. It was exactly the same as the last time she'd been in it. By Dumbledore's desk was a large gold and red bird standing on a perch. It was his pet phoenix, Fawkes.
"Professor." Lily said.
"Call me Albus." Dumbledore said. Lily nodded. "Well come and sit down. There's something important I need to talk to you about." Lily nodded and sat down in a chair opposite Dumbledore's desk.
"You are pregnant I believe?" Dumbledore asked.
"Yes, I found out yesterday. How did you know?" Lily asked frowning.
"Don't hurt me but I have been having you and James watched." Dumbledore said. "Simply because I am worried for you and it seems that my worries may increase. You have escaped Voldemort two times?" Dumbledore asked.
"Yes," Lily said.
"And James?"
"Once." Lily said.
"Lets hope to keep it that way." Dumbledore said gravely.
"What do you mean?" Lily asked.
"There has been a prophecy that I was invited to listen to and there are a possibility of two children who it refers to." Dumbledore said. "Neither are born yet but one child will be born with the power to defeat the dark lord. This child will be born to those who have defied Voldemort three times. So far this doesn't include you and James but if you both encounter Voldemort three times you will be in real danger." Dumbledore said.
"Why?" Lily asked frowning, this was the last sort of thing she expected to hear.
"Because he is after a child who will bring his downfall and I believe he already suspects that you, Lily, are pregnant. He will try and kill you or your child, when it's born, if you encounter Voldemort again." Dumbledore said. "Promise me that you will try to keep out of trouble and try not to go out too often?"
"Of course." Lily said. "Is there anything else I can do?" Lily asked seriously.
"I will be around your house to do a few spells but as of yet, there is a possibility that it will not be your child Voldemort is after." Dumbledore said. Lily frowned and tried to let this all sink in. "Now, you are welcome to spend the day in the school if you wish. I would like to invite you, Miss. Marsden and the Marauders to dine with me tomorrow night. You may wish to tell your husband that he is welcome to attend the quidditch match tomorrow as well." Dumbledore said trying to lighten Lily's mood.
