Lily had just finished breast-feeding baby Harry when she looked at James and gave him an understanding look. They had decided long ago who they wanted Harry's godparents to be and had been arguing about it until the two particular people got engaged. Lily thought that now, with Mrs. Chang and Mrs. Potter gone back to their homes after several hours of fussing over Lily and Harry, was the right moment to tell everyone. Sirius, Remus and Peter were congratulating James on having a baby boy and Sirius was already planning quidditch lessons and teaching Harry how to be a successful prankster. James was so relieved that they had all survived and that Lily and Harry were safe that he really didn't care what Sirius was planning. April stayed by Lily's side and just wanted to hold Harry. They were all in the bedroom, primarily because Lily and James didn't want to see what state the house was in and because it was safe in the bedroom.
"Can I hold him again?" April asked. Lily gave her a harsh look.
"He's sleeping." Lily said. And it was true. Harry was fast asleep in Lily's arms, she could already see some similarities between him and James.
"Ok, guys, can I have your attention" James asked standing up and addressing all their friends. "Lily and I have an announcement to make."
"You've already announced that you have a baby boy and that he's called Harry" Sirius said laughing. April threw a pillow at him.
"Sh! The Harry's asleep" April said. Sirius gave her a cheeky smile
"This is different but still on the subject of babies" James said. He looked at Lily.
"We have decided that we want April and Sirius to be Harry's godparents." Lily said. Sirius and April looked at Lily and James in surprise.
"Us?" April asked. "Why us? We're very irresponsible. Well, Sirius is very irresponsible."
"Well, both of you wanted to be godparents and since you two will be getting married then both of you can be godparents" Lily said to April. April hugged Lily's shoulders and gave her a happy kiss on the cheek. Lily laughed and looked at James relieved. "I'm really tired now so will it be possible if could maybe get some sleep?" Lily asked.
"Oh yeah, sure" April said. April stood up and looked at Sirius "Sirius." April said in a high voice. Sirius looked at her happily and stood up.
"My place?" Sirius asked. April turned to Lily,
"I'll see you tomorrow. I want to hold Harry some more. I think I'll get practicing on baby making." April said cheekily before disappeared a few seconds before Sirius.
"They show no shame." Remus said getting up and smoothing out his robes.
"I should be going now as well. It's been a long night." Peter said giving a long exaggerated yawn. James nodded.
"It has been a long night." He said looking at Lily with a slight smile. Despite the attack earlier he felt quite happy. Peter disappeared.
"Do you want me to stay in case there's another attack?" Remus asked.
"I don't think that-"
"I'll stay downstairs." Remus said. "Actually, I've made my mind up, I'm going to stay ok?" James smiled and gave Remus a brotherly hug.
"Ok, mate. Is it ok if I just stay up here, you can get everything for yourself can't you?" James asked.
"Don't worry about me. Worry about Lily." Remus said with a smile. He left the room and James pointed his wand at the door.
"Reparo" He said. As he turned the door fixed itself and he went to Lily on the bed. "How are you feeling?" He asked as he started to change.
"I'm tired." Lily said. She glanced at James for a moment before looking at Harry. "He's so beautiful." Lily sighed. James changed into a pair of boxer shorts, his favoured clothes to sleep in and slipped into the bed next to Lily. He put an arm around her and kissed her gently. She gently returned the kiss and when they pulled away she carefully put Harry into James' arms. He took him delicately and sighed happily.
"You did well." Lily said grinning slightly. James looked at Lily.
"Not as well as you did." James said. "I just looked after you." Lily gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Lily was dozing on the bed while Remus and James started fixing the house up. When Harry was awake and Lily could see he had the same emerald green eyes she had. She held her finger over his face and Harry's unfocused eyes tried to follow it. Lily smiled and tickled his belly before giving the baby a kiss. Harry waved his limbs in the air and let out a gurgle of happiness. He was so cute. The door burst open and April came in.
"Ok, the godmother is here." April said holding her arms out. Lily sat up in the bed slightly and stopped her.
"No, not so fast" Lily said. "Hands clean?" April nodded. "You haven't been anywhere dirty?" April shook her head.
"I've just come straight from Auror headquarters. It turns out I have a week of holiday." April said happily. "So I'm going to stay here and be your nurse-maid-person." April frowned slightly as she tried to think of the right word. Lily grinned and nodded. April excitedly sat on the bed at Harry's feet and picked him up gently.
"Hello Harry." April cooed. Lily laughed as April cooed and doted over her son.

Diagon Alley was almost deserted. Sirius walked down the streets looking for something to buy Harry. He didn't know what he was going to buy but he felt like buying something. After several hours of aimless wandering he went to Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlour and ordered a large Bertie Bott's flavoured ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. He was just paying when a young woman, about Sirius' age gave him a sparkling smile from the doorway. He knew her from somewhere. Sirius gave her a quick smile. She had fairly long light brown hair and nicely browned skin. She was smaller then April but had a very good figure. Sirius tried to remind himself he was engaged.
"Hi." Sirius said.
"Hi Sirius." She said sweetly. "You don't recognise me do you?"
"I'm afraid I don't." He said awkwardly.
"Jessica Lowe." She said. "I was April Marsden and Lily Evan's room mate."
"Oh, hi." Sirius said with recognition. She had really changed since school. "How are you doing?" He asked her. Jessica nodded her head slightly.
"Ok, I've started a modelling career. I model the latest fashionable dress robes for Gladrags. It's good pay but it's a bit dull." She said. Sirius ate some of his ice cream as Jessica leaned casually against the door frame.
"Yeah, well I'm sure it's more interesting then my job. I have to try and sort out the latest messes the top quidditch players get into." Jessica smiled and nodded.
"Magical games at the Ministry." She said. "My older brother works there. How are James and everyone?"
"James and Lily got married and they had a baby last night." Sirius said without thinking. Jessica just seemed so appealing.
"Really?" Jessica asked shocked. "No one thought they'd last more then a year outside school" Sirius laughed.
"Are you joking? A love like theirs." Sirius said, "Well, I'm also involved. I'm engaged to April." Jessica nodded.
"You two seemed so perfect for each other." Jessica said. "I could tell that you really helped her after Jenny's death." Sirius smiled and gulped down the rest of his nearly finished ice cream. Jessica smiled, "You have a bit of ice cream, here let me." Jessica extended her hand and wiped some melted ice cream from the corner of Sirius' mouth. Sirius noticed he had his mouth open and shut it.
"Um…thanks. I should really go and find something for Lily and Harry." Jessica looked at him confused. "Harry's Lily's son. I want to buy them something."
"That's so nice of you. I might be able to help you find something. I know Diagon Alley like the back of my hand." Jessica said smiling sweetly. Sirius felt slightly uncomfortable but if he refused the offer it would be rude. The two hadn't seen each other for over a year.
"Ok, that'd be great" Sirius said giving Jessica a forced smile. Jessica grinned and put her arm through Sirius'
"Well, you want to buy something for a baby it has to be a toy. And seeing as it's James' offspring he'll probably be good at quidditch-" Jessica talked to Sirius about all the different suitable things for a baby or Lily. Sirius' uneasiness soon began to fade and in an hour Jessica and Sirius were laughing and joking like old friends. They hadn't been that close at school but now everything was different.

April apparated to Sirius' house. James wanted to have another get together, even if Lily still wasn't up for it. Giving birth had taken a lot out of her. April wandered around the flat that Sirius lived in and looked around.
"Sirius." April asked uncertainly. She went to the sofa. It was piled with laundry, half of it was April's as she was already half living in Sirius' house. She saw a particularly skimpy bit of underwear and picked it up. That wasn't hers. April shrugged. She must have accidentally brought over her sister's underwear by accident.
"Sirius!" April called again. Sirius emerged from the bedroom looking tired and dishevelled. He gave April a wonky grin.
"April." He said. April frowned.
"Have you been sleeping all day?" Sirius nodded.
"Yeah, all day. We were up very late last night." He said cheekily. He wrapped his arms around April and gave her a kiss that caused her to smile.
"We were." April said. "James wants us to go around his." She said after another kiss from Sirius.
"Ok." Sirius said. He kissed April's neck and his hands slipped under her clothes.
"Sirius." April said slightly shocked and pleased. He gave her a smile and pouted slightly.
"Don't you feel like it?" He asked.
"I always feel- Sirius, it's only four in the afternoon." She said, he shrugged.
"It doesn't matter." Sirius said.
"Also I have to get home to help James and Dumbledore protect the house." April said slightly sorry she had to turn down Sirius' offer.
"Ok." Sirius said slightly annoyed. April gave him a kiss and disapparated. As she left someone apparated into Sirius' house. Jessica stood in front of him looking very appealing. Sirius' sexual urges hadn't been satisfied.
"Hi Sirius. I was thinking that maybe we could-" Jessica didn't finish the sentence. Sirius knew what she meant.
"I can't I have a fiancé" He said. Jessica walked towards him. Sirius took a few steps back and stumbled over the arm of the sofa. Jessica seductively sat on him lightly and pulled his muggle shirt off.
"You know you want to." She said. She ran a hand over Sirius' chest. Sirius' mind was racing. He had a fiancé, he had a fiancé, he had a fiancé. Sirius couldn't help it. His urges got the better of him and he pulled Jessica roughly towards him and kissed her.
