CHAPTER TWELVE: DOCTOR'S NOTES, JACK

Patient Colonel Jonathan O'Neill USAF. Patient has many unresolved issues dealing with past and currant traumas, the first major trauma being the death of his wife Vicky, for with he blames himself.

Patient's wife was extremely insightful in methods to force the patient to co-operate, the main one being the threat to take away his ability to go on missions, or as she called his "play time". After talking to the Colonel I see that, though very military, he has many child like qualities. I'm sure that this is one of the best coping mechanisms that he has utilized.

Patient will require follow up therapy for possibly years. I had thought that the joint sessions that are planned for the couple would mainly be for the benefit of the wife, but I think that the Colonel will benefit as much if not more. Once he finds that his wife has suffered many of the same experiences and begins to talk to her in the sessions I believe that they will continue to talk outside of the sessions. I believe the Colonel O'Neill will open up to his wife outside of the sessions much more than he ever will to any therapist, myself included. As long as he opens up to someone, I feel it will be just as beneficial as in an actual therapy session.

I feel that within two weeks that Colonel O'Neill will be able to be certified for gate travel. However, while he is on Earth I am ordering at least two sessions, one individual and one joint, for at least six months.
