CHAPTER NINETEEN: DOCTOR'SNOTES. SAM

Patient is Major Samantha Carter, USAF, and PhD in theoretical Astrophysics. Patient is dealing with unresolved feelings for her CO, Colonel Jonathan O'Neill. She is also dealing with suppressed jealously and resentment towards Captain Victoria O'Neill, the Colonel's long lost wife.

Patient also highly repressed emotions in general. She seems to subjugate her feelings instead of sealing with them. I suspect this is a result of her childhood as a military brat. Patient's father is General Jacob Carter who is now living off world as a To'kra. This, in of itself must cause a myriad of emotions that she has no doubt also suppressed.

While Major Carter in a relationship with a civilian, she seems to have trouble letting go of her love for Colonel O'Neill. This is not only self destructive but hinders and potential romance with not only the person she is dating, but if this relationship doesn't work out, with any future relationship.

The Patients continued repression of her emotions and avoidance of verbalizing and coming to terms with things is of serious concern. If she is not able to learn to be more honest with herself I fear that she is a psychotic break waiting to happen. IF this were to happen off world, or worse yet in a combat situation, this could be disaster, not only for herself but she could also endanger those around her.

When I clear SG-1 for off world missions, I will recommend to General Hammond that for a while, at least, they be limited to non-dangerous planets if at all possible.

I will be continuing sessions with Major Carter for the foreseeable future. Whenever she is at the base we will have at least one, if not two sessions a week. There are so many issues that she has not dealt with that I can not really determine when we will be able to end treatment

Attached is a full transcript of the session as well as complete medical file.
