CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: DOCTOR'S NOTES, DANIEL

Patient is Doctor Daniel Jackson. Dr. Jackson has Doctorates in both Archeology and Linguistics. Dr. Jackson is fascinating, in that he at one time had ascended to a "plain of higher existence".

Patient was in this state of higher for approximately a year before returning to physical form. Unfortunately he does not remember this year, as it would be a useful study in the human psyche, not only of our perceptions of death, but the experience of "ascending" and "descending".

Patient appears to be, for the most part, "normal". He is continuing to deal with the death of his wife. He has progressed through the typical stages of grief. I do get the impression that he does harbor some feelings of guilt over her death. This is very typical of males in that they feel it is their responsibility to protect their wives, whether or not the wives actually need protecting.

Dr. Jackson seems to be remarkably will adjusted considering his past and the day to day realities of the bizarre nature that all of SGC personnel endure The additional stress that they must all be under for keeping the nature of their work must be particularly hard for Dr. Jackson because his reputation has been maligned by his theories that the ancient Egyptians were aliens and he is, in fact, correct and cannot reveal this to his colleagues.

I feel that the Patient need not continue therapy unless he, himself, feel the need to talk to a professional. Therefore, I am giving him immediate clearence to resume gate travel.

Attached is a complete transcript of the session, as well as a copy of Patient's medical file.
