In the common room
Cheri had just walked in the common room after a long day in Hogsmade. James, Sirius, Katie, Chelsea, Peter and Remus were all sitting in the common room. James, Sirius, Katie were on the couch, and Chelsea, Peter and Remus were on the other couch
"Have a good time with Michael?" Sirius asked
"The best" Cheri answered sitting in an armchair.
"Great, you know I have to meet him" Sirius said excitedly
"Why?" Cheri asked
"Because I don't want anyone to get hurt," Sirius said, he quickly glanced at Katie who was looking strait at him
"Oh ok?" Cheri said confused
"Anyway" Katie said changing the subject
"What can we do?" James said
"James, Its late and I'm tired, I'm going to bed" Chelsea said
"Yea me too" Lily said
"Wait for me" Cheri said
"Katie you coming?" Lily asked
"Yea I need to talk to you" Chelsea said
"No I'm staying down here," Katie said. She was avoiding Chelsea at all costs
"Ok we will talk tomorrow" Chelsea said. The three headed up the stairs
"What's wrong Katie?" Sirius asked
"Nothing I'm just not tired" Katie said
"Oh" James said
"Yea" The room went silent
"Well I'm off to bed" Peter said
"Yea me too" Remus said
"K see you later" Katie said.
"Night" they both said
"Katie what's wrong? You've been kind of out of it lately" James said
"Nothing" Katie said
"Katie, I know you a little better then to believe that" James said
"I've just been thinking lately," Katie said
"About what?" James asked
"Noting" Katie, said
"Katie!" James said
"Look I just don't feel comfortable talking about it" Katie said
"Sirius!" James said
"What?" Sirius asked
"Do you know something I don't?" James asked him
"I know a lot of things you don't know" Sirius said
"James if I don't feel comfortable talking about it, why would Sirius know?" Katie asked
"I don't know, you too were kind of close today," James said
"SO" Katie asked
"So you haven't gotten that close to anybody since" James was cut off
"Since what James! Since Jake? Don't you think I know that? Damit! I just wish that everybody could forget about that and let me live my life!" Katie said, she ran out of the common room.
"Sirius what the hell was that about?" James asked
"How should I know?" Sirius said
"Because I know you do," James said
"How?" Sirius said
"Because you just told me" James said
"I did not," Sirius said
"You think about that while I go find Katie" James said
"No James let me go find her, she's already pissed at you; and James, she'll tell you when she's ready to" Sirius said. He walked out of the common room and ran up to the tower. Again he found her in the same spot. He sat down next to her. Her blue eyes were all glossy and she had a few tears running down her cheek.
"Katie, he doesn't know" Sirius said whipping a tear from her eye
"I know, it's just hard," Katie said
"I know" Sirius said
"I can't believe James of all people said that though," Katie said
"Katie he didn't say anything that bad" Sirius said
"I know but he acts like I don't trust anyone" Katie said
"But you don't trust anyone" Sirius said
"No I trust a lot of people, I just wish they would get over me not getting close to anyone" Katie said
"I know" Sirius said being as supportive as he could
'Things just always have a way of messing up for me" Katie said
"Everything is fine. Look you have friends who care about you, you go to a great school, your beautiful, smart, funny and so much more" Sirius said
"Thanks Sirius" Katie said
"Ok ready to go back?" Sirius asked
"Yea ok" Katie said. They stood up and walked back to the common room
"Katie!" James yelled as she entered the room
"I'm going to bed James," She said pushing past him. He grabbed her arm, spun her around and held her in a hug
"Look I'm sorry," He said
"No James it's my fault" Katie said
"No it's not," James said
"Yes it is, you have a right to know" Katie said
"No if you don't want me to know," James said
"I do want you to know, but I can't tell you, Sirius can you tell him for me?" Katie asked
"Are you sure?" Sirius asked
"Yea" Katie said
"Night" she said hugging both James and Sirius. She walked up the stairs to the girl's dorm
"So what happened to her?" James asked sitting in an armchair
"Umm. Jake. He umm well he umm" Sirius started sitting on the couch
"What Sirius" James asked
"He tried to rape her," Sirius said really quickly
"What!" James yelled standing up
"James calm down" Sirius said
"Calm down! Katie!" he yelled
"Here we go" Katie said quietly to herself. She walked out of the room and stood at the top of the stairs
"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?" James asked
"James it's ok. Really" Katie said
"No its not! That kid is lucky he didn't come back this year" James said
"James calm down!" Katie said
"I cant" James said pacing the room
"Sirius, is there anything you can do to stop him?" Katie asked
"Nope" Sirius answered simply
"Well I'm going to bed," Katie said
"No your not! You're going to explain!" James said, she reluctantly walked down the stairs and sat next to Sirius and leaned up against him. She quietly and quickly explained.
"Katie you really should of told us," James said
"I know, I just couldn't" Katie said
"Why" Sirius asked
"I don't know I guess I was scared," Katie said
"Well you don't have to be scared" James said
"Yea me and James are always here for you" Sirius said
"James, Please don't tell anyone," Katie asked
"Well who knows about it?" James asked
"Just you and Sirius" Katie said
"You mean none of the girls know?" James asked
"No" Katie said.
"Well I feel special" James joked. Katie smiled. Sirius looked happy that Katie was in his arms, but there was something in his eyes that looked like hurt and sadness.
"Thanks guys, I could've never gotten through the last few years without you" Katie admitted
"Glad we could help" James said.
"Anything else we can do?" Sirius asked tucking a piece of hair behind her ear
"No I think you guys have done enough" Katie said
"You should go to sleep," Sirius said
"Yea" Katie said getting up
"Good night sweetie" Sirius said
"Good night Sirius, good night James" Katie said
"Good night Katie" James said. Katie walked up the stairs to the Girls dorm
"I'm going to bed too," Sirius said
"Padfoot wait. What's wrong with you?" James said
"What do you mean?" Sirius asked
"You look really hurt," James said
"I just think I could've prevented what happened to Katie last year" Sirius said
"Sirius that's not your fault" James said
"I know I just wish she would've told us sooner" Sirius said
"Yea me too" James said. They walked up to the boys' dorm and went to sleep.
Next morning
"Morning Prongs" Sirius said noticing James was awake
"Morning Padfoot" James said
"So what are we up to today?" Remus asked
"Well after class we have Quiditch practice" James said
"Cool it's about time" Sirius said
"Yea we will have more practices now" James said
"Cool" Sirius said
At lunch
Lily was already there along with Katie, Chelsea, and Cheri. The guys walked over and sat down
"Hello ladies" Sirius said
"Hey guys," they said. James stayed silent
"James you ok?" Chelsea asked
"Yea why?" James asked
"Nothing you just look upset" Chelsea said
"Just a little tired" James said
"Oh ok" she said. James picked at his food.
*God why am I so depressed* James thought to himself
'You know why' A little voice inside his head said
*I know why but why *
'You not making sense' then voice said
"Shut up!" James said out loud
"James you ok?" Sirius asked
"I don't think so," James said. He got up and left
"I'm going to go check on him," Katie said getting up and running after him
"What's going on James" Katie asked approaching him
"Nothing" he said
