Hiei/Kurama. There is something more than the Kurama every one sees...
A/N: Thank you for everyone who read and reviewed. I see I had a lot of mistakes here. Thank you for correcting me. Gomen ne... It's just that it's my first time to write a YYH fanfic. Ehehe... I will just use Shuichi because it's the name that the computer accepts with the correct spelling. Anyway, about the Hiroshi-guy and Kaede-girl, they will appear on the fourth chapter. I'm sorry if I updated this story after ages, it's just that I'm working on another...
This is...well...the second part of the seeming to be never-ending fanfic of YYH. Arigato.
Chapter two: Surprises
There were noises from the corner of the city. Soon, the noise stopped, and five fine men with a pretty lady and a serious looking old woman got out from the secluded place. All of them had straight faces and a different kind of aura. The nature seemed to change with them. The sky darkened, indicating something like trouble. The birds suddenly hid. They all seek the cozy homes of the trees.
The seven people are in their own auras, all of them different from the others. The short but strict and stern woman had a fighting aura with her. An orange haired man followed next. He had a blank look on his face. The next one is the known troublemaker of the place. He had a worried and unsure look on his face. He was followed by a mysterious person dressed with orange pants, red clothe that seemed to act as an overcoat and a purple clothe. The colorful person has a terribly depressed look on his face. The girl next to him has a very unreadable face because she had her face bowed.
The two others, who were the last ones to exit the alley, had a different aura. The shorter one, the one who walked mysteriously with a cape as dark as the night, had the angry aura. He was glaring to the guy walking beside him, equally charming as he is. The red-head charmer with the killer smile has a different aura with him that stood up from the others. His aura is the worst. His aura is death. He looked at the ground that he's stepping on, as if he is already expecting death when they haven't even started yet. That was what happened before anyway.
All of them then started to run as they noticed the sudden change of Mother Earth. They know that this indicates great danger.
~+~+~+~+~
They are now on the cave, a group whose world seemed to have collapsed a long time ago already. They all stared at the infinite picturesque before them, nothing but oblivion framed with monsters on revolution, rebelling against the rule of king Yama. There is already a hole and there seemed to be smoke escaping from the tiny-whiny hole.
Everybody bit their lower lips. They all turned to Kurama. Kurama bit his lip, too. At last, he already spoke up. "It's not needed that all of us exert all of our forces since our powers will not be able to heal the hole on the barrier. We have to do this by partners. The hole on the barrier isn't that great anyway." He said while looking thoughtfully at the black- tinted oblivion.
Hiei stared at him. He smiled. They were disturbed by two boisterous voices that tantalized them. "Oh, Yusuke! Just look at the two lovers stare at each other! Isn't it lovely?" Kuwabara mocked. Yusuke laughed his head off.
Hiei glared at them. Kurama, the said to be most mature of the four, is biting his lower lip in preventing himself from screaming to his friends. The two now are blushing, not only because of the teasing, but because they're controlling themselves from killing the duo who are now laughing their heads off. All thanks to their master.
"You two! Shut up!" Genkai said as she tried to shut the two up. It turned out successfully, all thanks to her killer glares. Then, the group started the ritual.
(After two weeks) (This is because I'm so lazy to write it in a descriptive way.)
Hiei stared at the people around him. All of them are beat tired. All of them already have scars all over their body, because of giving their chi. Even his partner is. And so is he. All of them had been giving their chi for two consecutive weeks, fourteen days, three hundred thirty six hours, 20,160 minutes, 1,209,600 seconds... well, you've got the idea.
He dropped in his left knee. Damn, those monsters! Speaking like he is not a monster himself. Aren't they contented with the land of the monsters? Kurama turned to him. "Hiei? Are you alright?" He spoke rather soft, because, like Hiei is, he is as tired beat as Hiei. Kurama has a lot of sweat rolling down his cheeks. Soon, because of a lot of tiredness, Kurama dropped to his knees as well. Then Kurama shouted.
"Shit! Guys, back-up! The hole... it's growing bigger!" Shuichi said, or rather shouted. Soon, the people around them started to do the thing. They all formed a semi-circle around the barrier that's about to break. All of them panted. Soon, the hole was minimized. Shuichi backed away, very tired and full of scars.
"Hiei and Kurama, you two better rest first." Genkai said as she and the others replaced the two. Kurama headed towards the cave's entrance, but, in their point of view, it's the cave's exit. Hiei was the only one to notice. "Kurama...where are you going?" He asked his best friend.
Kurama stopped in his tracks to speak to Hiei, but he didn't face Hiei. His voice echoed in the cave. "You better stay here; I need to go home to mom. She'll start worrying if I don't go home when she calls. Stop worrying for me, worry for your sister." Kurama said, although he didn't realize that the things he said just caused Hiei's cheeks to turn red.
Hiei snorted. "Who on Earth said that I am worrying for you?" He said, trying to cover his blush. Unknown to both of them, the others are already looking at them. Kurama smiled when he heard the reply.
"Don't deny it." He said. Hiei felt his cheeks becoming hotter and hotter at the minute. He just blushed all his blood out while he watched the other's retreating figure. However, Yusuke and Kuwabara hit him again.
"Oh, what a lovely scene." Kuwabara said acting lovey-dovey all over. Yusuke smiled. Hiei turned around, just to see that Koenma and Genkai took their place while Kuwabara and Yusuke are sitting. "Hn." Hiei ignored them and also sat at the usual place where Kurama and him are usually sitting.
"C'mon! Don't deny it anymore. You're couples, right?" Yusuke said as he took a bite from the bread that Kurama bought last week. Hiei bit his lips. Of course they are not. Kurama is his best friend. However, how he dearly wished that Shuichi, or Kurama, whatever, is his lover. Hey... What the *toot* did he just say?
"No, he isn't." Hiei said as he, too, took a bite of the muffins that Kurama and he bought yesterday. "Don't deny it now, fire monster." Kuwabara said as he took another bite. "I said no, damn it!"
Good old master to the rescue. "Shut up you three! Rest there while you can. Kuwabara and Yusuke, stop bothering Hiei!" Genkai said as she tried to concentrate on covering the growing hole. The cave became silent.
~+~+~+~+~
Kurama gripped tight on the bar. Shit, he is getting nauseous already. He's getting dizzy. The world seems to spin all around him, and the people's voice seemed to fade. The colors are fading and....
He was falling. He was one inch from the train's floor when a pair of arms caught him. He forced himself to open his eyes and saw a familiar friend. "Kaito..." His voice was rather soft and tired. Kaito helped him up. Soon, he saw a seat. He placed Shuichi on the seat.
"Are you alright?" Kaito asked as he fixed the other boy's collar. Kurama just nodded. He grasped his hair and breathed large amount of oxygen. He was still panting when they both heard a 'ding'.
"We're already here. Come, let me help you." Kaito said as he reached out a hand. Kurama got up and was helped by Kaito. They both went out of the station. Kaito is carrying Kurama using a shoulder.
"Kaito... I'm sorry." Kurama said as they reached the front part of their mansion. Kaito nodded and smiled. "It's OK, Kurama. And, I really should help you because you are my friend." He said. Kurama nodded and smiled another of those made-up smiles.
"I'm OK now. You don't need to accompany me inside. Dad would be very worried if he sees me being carried by another person." Kurama said as he detached himself from Kaito's shoulder. Kaito merely nodded, although he was pretty disappointed that he allowed Shuichi to go farther. He just watched the retreating figure of the red-headed fox.
He turned his back around. How he wishes that Kurama feels the same way that he feels for the other. He looked at his back just to see Kurama putting an overcoat. That fox. He wants to lie to his mother again that he's fine, but he isn't. What's with the scars anyway?
He just sighed as he continued to walk home.
~+~+~+~+~
Shuichi grasped his overcoat tightly. He bit his lower lip. He grasped the steel of the gate tightly. This should be very easy for him: to lie and lie and lie ceaselessly. But this is a new case. He is wounded. Oh, he better hurry now, it's getting colder and colder at the minute.
He opened it and locked it as fast as he can. He walked silently to their very big garden, trying hard to cover his wounds. How he hopes against hopes that his father will not see them. But, he has scars all over his face.
He tiptoed silently to his room, wishing that the two others are watching TV or sleeping or what. Unfortunately, luck had really betrayed him since then. The sight that welcomed him is the exact opposite wish that he is wishing for.
It's not that he hates his foster father. He just doesn't want him to worry, or say it to his mother. Once he sees the scars, and her mother knew about it, he doesn't know what on Earth will happen.
Uh oh... What the...? Why is his mother here already?! She had just left the country last week! Oh my God... No, How he dearly wished that Earth will just open up for him! His father might not give a shit personally, but his mother...? That's a bigger, newer story!
His mother rushed to him as soon as he opened the door. "Shuichi! How I missed you! Muah! Muah!" Shiori sent kisses all over her scarred son. Shuichi smiled at her mother. "Mom!" He said as he embraced his mother. How he missed his mother so much.
The silver fox always interrupts them every time they share a moment with each other, though. Kurama was, well, getting irritated at the moment that Shuichi had to break away. It's not the only reason why he broke away, though. He felt the scar on his side ache. His face flinched a little before he backed away.
"Why, Shuichi, you have a scar on your left cheek!" Shiori almost jumped out in surprise. "You also have another scar in your chin! You have scars and scratches all over your face! What happened? Come here, I'll treat it." Shiori said as she rushed to the bathroom cabinet to get their medical kit. Shuichi bit his cold and trembling lower lip
"No, Mom. I'll treat it upstairs." He said. Shiori returned to the living room just to see the retreating figure of his son. That was when he noticed a blot of brownish red at his son's coat. Her eyes widened in horror at the sight. She continued to stare at her supposed-to-be son until Shuichi reached his bedroom door. Then, she collapsed.
"MOM!" Touya rushed to his foster mother's side.
~+~+~+~+~
Two blurry images were the first thing that Shiori saw when she opened her eyes. At first she was lightheaded and didn't recognized them, but she did after a few seconds. "Honey? Touya? Why? What happened...?" Shiori suddenly stood up as her memories started to flow inside her again. "Where is Shuichi?" She suddenly asked as she rushed upstairs. "Shiori! Wait!" Her new husband said as he followed Shiori.
Shiori opened her son's bedroom door just to see him studying. "Oh my God, Shuichi! Where did you get that scar on your side?" Shiori said as she approached her son. Shuichi siled, and lied once again. "What are you talking about, Mom?" He asked. It was a good thing that liars are also fast people. He healed himself as soon as he reached his room, for he knows that his mom will soon see it.
Shiori's eyes are filled with concern. "Are you sure? Let me see your right side." She said. His foster father is also watching from behind. Shuichi smiled as he took his shirt off and showed his side. It didn't have a single scar. "You just overworked yourself, mom. Try to get some rest." He said as he smiled.
Shiori smiled as well. "I really though you have a scar. Good heavens, I don't know what might happen to me if ever you really have a big wound like that." Kurama smiled at his mother nervously.
As soon as his mother left, his foster dad (What's his name?) piped up. "Didn't I tell you to ask permission first before leaving the house?" Shuichi bit his lip as he gulped involuntarily. "I'm sorry, Shuichi, but because of what you did, you're grounded."
Kurama can't believe his ears. "Dad! You can't do this?" "Yes I can and I should. We're one family now, Shuichi, and we need to take care of each other." With that, his foster father left his room.
Shuichi sighed.
~+~+~+~+~
Hiei stared outside the cave. He knows that Kurama is in trouble with his dad, but he doesn't know what. "Genkai? Can I go somewhere first?" He asked. Genkai stared at him. "Make it fast." She said.
"I see that it's LQ." Kuwabara snickered from behind. Yusuke chuckled. Hiei raised a brow. "LQ?" "C'mon! Don't tell me you don't know what LQ is." Yusuke asked to the naïve person before him. "No." "It means lover's quarrel." Kuwabara said as he laughed hard,. He laughed so hard that he's even snorting. Hiei was about to blast his black dragon wave technique when Koenma piped up. "GUYS! Aren't you shutting up?"
Hiei went to the house of his best friend. It was unusually silent. He hopped to the tree branch nearest to Kurama's room. "Hey! What are you doing here?" He asked, feeling his blood boil. Now what the hell is his best friend thinking?
"Hiei, I'm grounded. I can't leave the house for three days." He said, seeing a raging fire monster in his window. He opened it, and let the fire monster in. "LET'S GO!" Hiei shouted to him. "Don't shout, will you? They might hear you!"
"Shuichi, is there anyone in your room?" Shiori asked as she peeked on the stairs. "Uh... no one, mom. I'm just practicing some lines for the school play." He lied once more. Hiei was fuming at a corner of Kurama's room. His face is crossed, and he's pretty mad that he can destroy this house.
"Look, Hiei. I'll just go there every night, Ok?" He said as he smiled at the furious boy. Hiei just pouted, he can never resist that smile. "Ok. I'll be waiting. And if you don't show up this night, you'll be a roasted, fried fox."
Shuichi smiled as he watched the retreating figure of his best friend.
