Disclaimer: Don't own EFC, It belongs to Gene Roddenberry.
AN: I belong to a Liam/Renee group and I found some fanfictions I wrote nearly a year ago. They got great responses there so I rewrote them and posted them here. Takes place during the Point of No Return, the fourth season finale.
The chambers slid closed as the regeneration process began, Liam Kinkaid stepped into the regeneration pool and a vortex of energy surrounded him.
"I don't know what they'll become but it's in the hands of destiny now."
The wall to the chamber slid open, and lava from the volcano came pouring in, but he didn't feel it. The pool must be protecting me, he thought to himself.
He could feel the energy from the two species as they came together, becoming stronger and powerful, Liam felt himself tiring and then flashbacks from his life came.
His parents both deceased joining together, his birth and growing to adulthood really quickly. He felt sadness for them and then for Da'an, whose mind was rapidly blinking out of existence along with Vorjack's.
He thought about all the people who had died in the conflict, Lili his friend who had been sent to Jaridia against her will, she was probably dead, and the worst part was he would never get to know the answer.
Renee, first his enemy then his friend, he would never get a chance to tell her how he felt, that he had always loved her, unless hopefully he would get out of here somehow. Street and Augur his two friends.
He felt the Taelon and Jaridian's energy signatures fade as they ceased to exist and a new species came, which would rest in stasis until the chamber was opened.
Liam felt tired yet blissful at the same time, he looked down at himself and gasped, his body was fading! He tried to fight, but the grip of whatever had him was to strong. His vision faded and when his eyes opened again he was in a fog, he felt disconnected but at the same time he was in tuned to everything.
Suddenly a figure emerged from the mist, his father Ha'gel. "Hello son welcome to the Vortex, or universal consciousness in simpler terms."
Liam hugged his father not resisting the idea of being dead, well his body was. The haze increased and they moved into it together, Liam knew he had completed his destiny and now would embrace the next part of his new journey.
His one final thought, *goodbye Renee*
THE END
