Disclaimer: Hey all! Well, I'm sure you all know that I don't own the
setting (Hogwarts of course!) and I don't own the characters that you
recognize, some of them will be my own, however. Hmm...I think that's it!
A/N- ok,well, this IS my first fanfic ever, and I have another one coming
out with a different pairing, and its better, but I think this is a good
one so far...I dunno, I think it seems interesting. It's a really short first
chapter, I know, and I know some of you won't read it cuz its soooo short,
but please, just read and review, give me a chance, I beg! I PROMISE it
will get waaaaaay better! Just give it a chance. The next chapter will be a
lot longer.
"Hurry up!" called Harry to Hermione. She was at least a foot behind him.
"I'm going as fast as I can!" she called back to him, a little indignant.
Harry slowed his pace just enough so that he was now next to Hermione, "I'm sorry, I'm just worried that Filch will catch us, or his stupid cat Mrs. Norris."
"I know, I know, its ok," was Hermione's reply.
It was midnight, exactly a week after term resumed. Harry and Hermione were on another one of their escapades through the castle.
"I'm so glad to be back here," said Hermione with a small sigh.
"Yea, me too," agreed Harry, thinking to himself that she must've said that a million times already.
They came to a stop outside a doorway on the eighth floor.
"Shall we?" asked Harry, holding out his arm in a mock formal way, like someone would do at a ball.
"We shall," said Hermione with a wry smile, taking Harry's extended arm.
Harry opened the door and they both went in together. As they looked around in wonder, there was a noise behind them. Each of their heads snapped quickly towards the door, wondering what or who was making the noise.
Luna Lovegood walked in with a dazed (as always) look on her face.
"Luna, what are you doing here?" Hermione inquired.
"Oh, I just thought I'd go for a stroll. I saw that this door was open and decided to see who was in here..." she trailed off, looking around.
Harry and Hermione looked at each other and then to Luna, who was smiling naively.
"Um...well, erm...would you, uh, like to join us, Luna?" Harry said in what he hoped to be an off-handed voice so as not to show his anger.
Hermione threw a furious look towards Harry but didn't say anything. He knew that Hermione wasn't the fondest person of Luna, but Harry didn't see any other way out of this situation.
"Sure," answered Luna happily. She was, apparently, not aware of the looks Hermione was giving her.
"Ok...um, well, Hermione and I were just about to—"
"--about to leave," interrupted Hermione.
"We, what?" Harry asked confused.
"We were about to leave, remember?" Hermione added with a menacing undertone.
"Oh, yes, right...we were just leaving because we, er..." Harry couldn't think of anything and he looked to Hermione to help him out.
"Because we came here to check on something and now we're done," finished Hermione shortly.
A/N- Just something to think about....Where were Hermione and Harry? Was Luna following them? Why were Hermione and Harry alone wandering the castle? Where is Ron? What were Harry and Hermione looking at "in wonder"?
