Xander slowly approached the Shield Liger. It was somewhat damaged, but Imperial-modified. It could be his only way into the base.
He made a hand signal to Osiris, his Organoid. He turned to see a jet of purple light shoot into the Liger. Then he made his move.
Xander jumped onto the leg of the Liger, and started to climb it. He made it up to the cockpit, and opened it quickly. Osiris had unlocked it for him. Xander stunned the pilot with a baton, and then Osiris pulled the pilot into the Zoid Core. Seconds later, the pilot was jettisoned out of the Zoid.
Osiris started to heal the various wounds on the Liger, starting with the back-right leg. Once the leg was healed, they could go full speed towards the Imperial base.
Within a few minutes, the leg was fixed, and they were running to the base.
When the base was in sight, Xander started to ready the Liger's weapons and prep the shield.If he didn't do this right, the so-called "stealth operation" could escalate into a firefight. That was the last thing he wanted.
The whole operation, "courtesy" of the Republic, was to find out what weapons the Empire had to combat the Gojulas, A.K.A. ZD. There were rumors of a Lightning Liger, but that was an unsure name. It was supposed to be a cheetah-like Zoid, and the fastest ever. If this is true, then it could easily dodge the Gojulas's cannon shells. But such a zoid would be highly unstable, and nearly unmodifiable.
He stopped the Liger at the gateway and waited for the Zoid ID to be checked. The gates clambered open, and the Liger walked right in.
