Steely cold pierced through his chest, numbing him,
Freezing the breath within him.
Time seemed slow to a crawl as he glanced at his friends as they fought
desperately to get to him,
Silent looks of horror on their faces.
They screamed something that his ears did not hear.
His lover was rushing towards him in what seemed like slow motion.
His vision was becoming blurry, dizzying.
His entire body was becoming numb.
He found himself falling. His body had grown so cold that he did not even feel the sickening slam as
his face met the cruel concrete.
'What's happened?' He wondered as he chocked on his own blood. 'Wu Fei? I'm
scared. . .'
His vision was becoming cloudy, encased in a foreboding darkness. He couldn't feel the warmth of the hands that rolled him over; nor could he feel the arms that sought to protect him from the darkness that threatened
to consume him.
'This can't be real. . .' his muddled brain reasoned, 'it must be a nightmare. . .' A small smile of confused understanding crossed his paling
lips,
'Yes. . .
That's it. . .
. . . this is a nightmare. . .
. . . all I have to do. . .
. . . is wake up. . .
. . . and Wu Fei will be right there with me. . .'
"Just hang in there!" Wu Fei pleaded as the vacant eyes slid shut, "QUATRE!"
There was no response.
