Hey all. This takes place in Santa Barbara. In MY world, they went and
Lauren never came into the picture. Unfortunately, I don't write the show.
J.J. does. And sure this season is turning out good, but Sydney and Vaughn
should definitely be together. Oh well. So anyway, I don't own the
characters, I don't own the song. I don't own much at all. Okay. Read and
review.
~Enjoy~

"Syd??"
"Hmm??"
"Do you want to dance??"
"Okay."
So we start dancing and the song fills my ears, pumps through my veins. We move in sync and become oblivious to anyone else around us. It's just the guy on the piano, me, and him. And then he starts to sing in that soft voice of his that he knows I love.
"When the road gets dark...And you can no longer see...Just let my throw a spark...And have a little faith in me...And when the tears you cry...Are all you can believe...Just give these loving arms a try baby...and have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me...Have little faith in me..."
I start to cry and he holds me closer...his voice becoming a soft whisper in my ear.
"And when your secret heart...Cannot speak so easily...C'mere darling from a whisper start...To have a little faith in me...And when your back's against the wall...Just turn around and you you will see...I will catch, I will catch you if you fall baby, just have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me...And have a little faith in me...Have a little faith in me..."
I start to turn in his arms, just like the song says but before I can he kneels on the ground and his voice becomes a little louder. My hands come flying to my mouth because there is no way this is happening but at the same time I want it to because it's right.
"Well I been loving you for such a long time girl...Asking nothing in return...Just for you to have a little faith in me...You see time, time is our friend...Cause for us there is no end...All you have to do is have a little faith in me..."
He looks deep into my eyes and reaches out for my hands which I gladly give him. And then it begins.
"Sydney, I love you. There is no doubt in my mind that I have loved you since the day I met you. Yes, crazy hair, missing some teeth and I still loved you. You were everything I wanted to be. You were strong and passionate and so driven by pure will that I couldn't believe that you were human. And on top of all of that, you had faith. You had faith that someday we would take down SD-6. That some day we would be able to be together. And when we finally were together, when SD-6 was taken down, I couldn't believe my luck. I had you. I had this unbelievably beautiful, strong woman and that was the day I gave you my heart. Now I hope, that you will do the same. That you will give me your heart to hold and to love and to cherish every day for the rest of my life. Sydney, will you marry me??"
He pulls out a gorgeous ring. I start sobbing even harder and kneel down so I am face to face with him. I kiss him softly but I think that kiss meant more than the words that flew out of my mouth the next second.
"Yes, Vaughn. Of course I will marry you." I throw my arms around him and he stands up, taking me with him. He kisses me then carefully takes my left hand in his right and slides the ring onto my fourth finger. Suddenly I have this feeling that although we been through more than our fair share of bad times, we're going to be okay. I have faith.
