Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters.
Me: okay I'm really not supposed to be writing this story, I'm actually not even supposed to be on this computer, but that's besides the point. I will not bother you with the misfortunes of my life. Lets just say what mummy doesn't know can't hurt her, however if she were to find out it would hurt me, so lets keep quiet about this then, shall we.
With that said on with the story...
The sun was just setting, and an old man walked out onto the balcony of his great house, a house that many envied, a house the old man loved dearly, but he loved it not for it's beauty or size. No he loved it for a different reason, he loved the memories. The memories the house held, the good and the bad.
Even now as the man stands there, eyes closed, the feel of the wind on his face, the moon rises and it becomes dark. It doesn't bother him though, he got used to the dark.
Back when he was with Rei, Max, Tyson, and Kenny, back with the Bladebreakers, together. Not long after they split up and went their separate ways, he had an accident, a terrible accident. It was a miracle he survived, but he never saw his team again...
He heard them, but only saw darkness, afraid to open his eyes and let the world see, when he couldn't, his misted over eyes, once crimson, now dull red, brown. He was blind.
Only sixteen and he would never be able to see, a fate he wished upon no one, but there was still hope! If the doctors found a donor, a blood match, he could have eyes that would see once again!
There was no donor.
He gave up, bound to be sightless, he accepted it and he learned to cope. He listened to his friends grow old, he listened to everyone. He listened around him for sound, and slowly he became aware of everything.
Sure his friends were there to help but there was only so much they could do. He had to help himself, he had to become strong again, he had to be him again.
It was hard though, without sight, it was really hard. He'd look right at his friends but they were never there, no one was there, it was void, he couldn't see them, he couldn't see anyone, he couldn't see Rei.
His Rei, he was going to confess his love to Rei, but he couldn't not now, not anymore. He was blind and Rei would never understand. He cried though, having been able to hear Rei's confident voice, hearing his laughter, but never would he see the smile, or the frown, he would never see love.
Soon he would never hear Rei either, for on the eve of his twenty-ninth birthday Rei died. He was on drugs and overdosed, he committed suicide.
Tyson and Max couldn't believe it, Kenny the more reasonable one just stayed quiet.
His worst fear came true, Rei was now out of existence, he couldn't see nor hear Rei and what was more tragic was he'd never feel Rei either.
There was a reason for Rei's death, and the now old man never forgave him, but time passed and old wounds healed, everything seemed as normal as things could get.
Everything seemed okay.
One by one his friends all ended up leaving him, Rei kept them all together, but he's been gone for a long time.
Stepping back into his house the man wished his friends were with him, he'd opened his eyes no longer afraid, he looked out to the stars, glad Rei could see them.
The old man went to his room locking the door, and headed towards the mirror.
He could see again, he had found a donor, now eighty-six he received his new sight fifty-seven years ago, on the eve of his best friend's twenty- ninth birthday...
Meeting his reflection in the mirror, Kai looked straight into Rei's eyes.
I guess Kai was wrong about never seeing Rei again, I hope you enjoyed this.
