~ Chapter 10~
Hiei's hand was outstretched as she stared at it.
"Alright" she said after a pause and took it, he helped her sit up as she grimaced a little from the pain, and she went to put her legs over the side of the bed and screamed from the pain.
"You... don't have to..." Hiei was at a loss of words watching her struggle was enough to kill him, though he wouldn't admit it.
"Yes I do, come here" she said as she put her arm around his neck, leaning on him for support she stood.
Hiei could feel his cheeks growing hot from her being so close to him, but suppressed it.
She took her jeans from the nightstand and slipped them on, she tied the blue robe around her waist, with Hiei's support she made it out the door.

They were down the hall, the doctors whispering to each other as the two walked down the hall Ross growled as she tightened her grip on Hiei for support her pulled her closer taking on more of her weight to make it easier for her to walk.
"It's like they never saw me before I mean I only work here" she growled under her breath as he smirked from her comment.

They made it to the I.C.U and walked into a small private room, Trunks lay there attached to a tangle of tubes and breathing equipment, Hiei helped her sit in a chair next to the bed.
Hiei stared at the teen in bed, he was noticeably handsome, and the fact that he was Ross' race didn't help the problem, he wouldn't admit it but he was a bit worried about the competition for HIS girl-
'Wait did I just refer to her as mine, hah no way I don't love her... but then why did I say that? Like I could ever love a Baka Onna like her' he thought as she traced her finger through Trunks' hair.
"Can you close the door?" she asked snapping him out his daze he did so, she sighed and looked at her friend he was so helpless.
"Damnit" she mumbled as the respirator pumped air into his lifeless body.
'I guess there's only one thing for me to do' she thought as she stood up Hiei looked at her a bit worried.
"Im alright" she said holding up a hand as he softened his expression.
She went to Trunks body and sighed.
"Sorry that it had to come to this" she said as Hiei's eyes widened.
'She's gonna... kill him' he thought as Ross went to outstretch her arms.
"Are you nuts you can't-" but before he could finish his sentence a blue aura surrounded Trunks body as Ross closed her eyes in a trance.
'What is she... she's GIVING HIM HER LIFE!' he thought as her body emitted an immense amount of energy.
Suddenly her legs gave way she began to collapse but Hiei caught her by the shoulders, she sighed in exhaustion collapsing against him, he moved her to a chair and glared down at her dreary eyes.
"What the hell did you just do?" he yelled angrily.
"I saved his life" she said pointing to Trunks' body which seemed to be regenerating its-self she sighed and relaxed her head dropping it to the side.
She was.... going.
"Wake up!" he yelled shaking her; she didn't respond.
As if on cue a bunch of nurses and doctors came into the room wondering how Trunks' vital signs had increased so rapidly, seeing the fallen girl their attention was averted....
"WHAT HAPPENED?" Yelled a doctor going to check her vitals and motioned for a nurse to get a stretcher.
"Damnit answer me!" he yelled as Hiei was taken aback, no human had ever yelled at him he didn't know how to... react.
"I..."
"Hurry up we're losing her!" yelled the doctor to the E.R staff as he moved her body to the stretcher provided and rushed... out of site.
Hiei stared in space shocked at what just happened... he realized he was the only one left in the room except for the lavender haired teen he turned to the bed and saw the boy's eyes spark open.
'She really did... save him'

Hiei sat in the waiting room staring at the opposing wall expressionless, everyone mad their way to the waiting room they had branded theirs.
"What... what's wrong" said Kurama looking at Hiei who didn't flinch.
"Didn't you feel that energy" he said as Kurama looked at him confused.
"Well yeah but I thought that..."
"Ross gave her life energy to save Trunks" he said as Kurama and the others sat down they had remembered when Yusuke had done something similar when they fought the 4 saint beasts, if it weren't for Kuwa he would he died.
"Did you..."
"No... they took her away" he said as Vegeta shook his head.
"Wait what do you mean to save Trunks she gave him her... life energy???" he said as Hiei nodded.
"It's the energy all living things use to establish the normal functions of life" he said as he turned his crimson stare to the saiyan prince.
"In other words she killed herself to save your son" he said as Vegeta looked wide eyed at the fire demon.
"You've got to be kidding me, she's gonna... die" he said as Hiei turned his stare back to the dull walls.
"Yes but what do you care your son's alive, isn't that all that matters" he said as Vegeta clenched his teeth.
"Of course not" he said as the entire room turn their gaze onto him in surprise.
"What! So I care about the brat you got a problem with it" he said raising a fist as they shook their heads hastily looking away,
Bulma took her husband by the arm to Tunks room; they all followed in curiosity to see the teen's condition, Hiei stayed along with Kurama and the boys.
"You mean to tell me she saved his life?" said Yusuke astonished.
Hiei nodded, "Must have felt guilty" said Kuwa leaning against the wall.
"But without... the gem and now with this condition she'll..."
"You don't think I haven't figured that one out yet Kurama" said Hiei angrily.
"Sorry..." he said as the room became quiet.

Bulma and Vegeta opened the half-cracked door to see their son sitting up in bed and... alive.
"Oh honey" said Bulma going to his side and hugginh him Trunks smiled at his mother and comforted her.
"Im alright" he said as Vegeta nodded.
"Is... Ross ok?" he asked as Bulma looked up.
"I... don't know sweetie I just don't know"
